Choke City is a band from Budapest, Hungary, consisting of stable members of the local underground scene. In their current venture, they’ve cut ties with their musical past to create their present sound of melancholic, eerie, yet heavy, sonic textures.
Their style can be best described by the abstract visions of their covers, which blend post-punk, all eras of wave Music, with a pinch of heaviness to emphasize the introverted vibes, much like salt helps elevate all flavors.
After dropping a full-length album besides 5 singles/eps since 2021, and publishing a live set recorded at the prestigious House of Arts in Szekszárd, the band is ready to unleash new songs in 2025 on Budapest-based Corbata Records.
