1. Gold FacePaint 2:16

Brighton-based quartet Facepaint are pleased to announce their return with new single ‘GOLD’. The new offering is accompanied by another new track in the form of B-side ‘LOW’.

The band recently returned from UK tour dates with friends in Cornish indie/alt-rock trio Flowers Of Palo (including sold out headline shows at Bristol Rough Trade and Falmouth Cornish Bank) as well as appearing at Boardmasters Festival and Great Estate Festival.

This new release comes slightly later than planned for the band following a tough period, which saw them recovering from post-festival COVID, navigating a move from Cornwall to Brighton, and healing some pretty hardcore injuries.

Commenting on the single, drummer Elik Eddy says: “This song has been teased throughout the last year of shows since returning from a year’s worth of lockdowns, and really found its place on our most recent UK tour. Originally recorded on Garage Band about a year ago, it holds a melancholy place in our growing discography, with despairing lyrics and soft, driving guitar melodies that come together to form an emotionally heavy tune. I think it’s definitely one of our best tracks yet.”

‘GOLD’ and ‘LOW’ were produced by Ross Ruthero and Matt Conybear at CUBE studios, Cornwall, and are the latest in a string of brand new tracks from the band dropping throughout the year, following on from previous single ‘The Reaper’.

With a reputation for live shows that are consistently chaotic, intense and brimming with the spirit of the 80s punk scene, Facepaint have already performed alongside Mother Vulture, The Rezner, Skinny Milk, School Disco and more, at several sold out shows across the county.

The slacker punks already boast over 50k+ streams on Spotify, and are now setting their sights further afield after making their mark on the South-West live circuit despite the challenges of COVID.
