With the release of the Family Matters album, Tanner Bingaman brings a new feel to a classic genre. Lush with addictive progressions, southern folk vocals, and a bluesy edge, the record boasts the aesthetic of indie folk anthems. Though the songs are diverse from one another, there is a glue that holds it all together, much like a concept album would. Most importantly, the record never loses sight of the emotional platform great songs are built from.

The first single release, “Sweet Mary Ann”, is a straight Americana classic. Complete with harmonica hooks and a genuine southern style, the song seems to breathe and build as it plays on.

“This recording is a grand attempt at capture the extreme highs and lows that come in the everyday nuances of life experience/existential dread/beat rhythm, etc. etc. It’s also the first batch of recordings I have been wholesomely proud of and excited to share with a larger audience”, explains the songwriter.

Although the single does speak volumes for the album, to get a real understanding of where Bingaman is coming from, it should be heard in its entirety.

After learning guitar at just 16 years old, Tanner Bingaman fell in love with playing. It was a few years later he would start writing his own songs. “Songwriting began as a way deal with everyday life in a healthy way, and it still is to this day.” After performing for family and friends, he began playing open mics and local gigs. The songs he played would soon become the material for his debut release. It was then the Family Matters album was finally born.

The songwriter spends his time performing live locally as much as possible as he writes new material for his next releases.

The Family Matters album is available now for streaming and download on most major outlets and Bingaman is planning upcoming shows in support of his release.
