Pacific drop their new single titled ‘Idols’ as of today (January 24, 2020). Pacific is like Belgian Chocolate to me; to good to pass up but I worry too much may make me tired of it, but it never does. This band is original at the core surrounded by a unified force of sheer creativity and energy. I don’t know why but they sound like there are ten members in the band, but there isn’t. The sound is that full and refined.

And, just like the chocolate I described earlier, Pacific has given me that feeling that I expect no less from them, because I know they can produce. And produce they do. The hook is a monster of memorable music powerful and straight-forward in ways that the song stays with you long after that initial listen. I dare you to press play. Your standards of music will change for the better.

About Pacific

Pacific is making a name for themselves with their unique blend of alternative piano-enthused rock with indie nuances. The piano-indie rock band kick-off 2020 with ‘Idols’ on Friday 24th January, having been spun on BBC Radio 1, featured in METRO and already seen a year of success with three sell-out shows and continued strong BBC Introducing support.

The band is showing no signs of slowing down after selling out Night People in Manchester this September, with a recently announced headline show set to take place at Gorilla, Manchester on Friday 3rd April 2020.

Recorded by recent Kaiser Chiefs producer David Watts, Pacific’s 2020 debut offering ‘Idols’ is an electrifyingly immediate single that continues to stand them out from the current phase of indie and rock.

2019 alone saw a huge amount of success for Pacific, with three sell-out shows in Northwich (The Salty Dog), Manchester (Jimmy’s), and Manchester (Night People) as well as winning Y Not Festival’s public vote to play the festival from 1,000s of acts that applied. This year has also seen strong radio support, with month-on-month support from BBC Radio, a 30-minute, live-on-air gig on BBC Introducing, as well as a live session on XS Manchester. Pacific was also play-listed with their latest track ‘Time To Forget’ on Amazing Radio, and recently performed a show at BBC Introducing Live at Tobacco Dock. The band also joined The Blinders, Red Rum Club and All Tvvins on their tours as support, and performed at Dot To Dot Festival in May and Blackthorn Festival in July.

Pacific has also been championed by Manchester football clubs, with Salford City FC and Gary Neville using the band’s music for the past two years in video material, including in their 2019 highlights video celebrating their first-ever EFL match. Pacific’s music has also frequented Premier League match playlists at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium alongside Blossoms and Catfish & The Bottlemen and the band performed at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium.

Further to this, the band received an impressive ‘Guardian Weekend’ 3-page cover feature this summer across Northwich Guardian, Warrington Guardian and the Winsford and Middlewich Guardian, following single ‘Bottle This Love’.

Pacific’s previous singles have seen 190k streams on Spotify (Life in Short), been play-listed across retail stores across the UK (Life in Short), and received national radio play on Jack FM (Life in Short, Clarity, Let Me Out). ‘Life in Short ’won Staffordshire & Cheshire’s ‘Best Local Single’ at the 6 Towns Radio Awards 2018.
