Andreas S Jensen has just released his new video for the song titled “Trust Is My Anchor”. This track took me by surprise. Starting off as a haunting ballad, the song then kicks in to the most amazing chorus I’ve heard in ages, with such bravado and power as to really kick the song into gear while totally fitting the song entire. And, just like that, it reverts back to the haunting yet soothing tranquility that is the verses. This is thee type of song that careers are made of.

About Andreas S Jensen
Andreas moved to London from his native Denmark in 1998, and started working as a session player with the band Dweeb (Blanco Y Negro/Warner Bros), however he soon got involved in writing and production and signed a publishing and management deal with Wise Buddah Music, where he wrote and produced for a number of years.

As part of the writing team The Funktuary Andreas co-wrote, did additional production and put together the Radio Edit/remix of Armand Van Heldens club classic “My My My” -the second most played song on Radio One in 2006.

The Funktuary released their debut EP in 2010 but after a few well visited gigs in London the live band decided to call it a day.

Andreas then joined reggae/break beat/Drum and Bass pioneers Dub Pistols, who he still gigs with.

In 2011 Andreas started visiting the Austin,Texas based House Of Songs; a collaboration project supported by songwriting collection societies from around the world.

Andreas’ solo debut ep Disconnected was released in January 2014, featuring three songs written and partly recorded at the Austin retreat in collaboration with local writers. A DIY video of the song Unchanged, was shot on an iphone in Andreas’ girlfriends London flat, and the song Take My Heart And Go received support from Tom Robinson on BBC6 Music.

The coming album Disturbed will feature performances by an impressive group of London session players, friends Andreas has met via his producer and session work including:

Adam Falkner on drums (Babyshambles/Dido), guitarist Garo Nahoulakian (Nadine Shah), Antonia Pagulatos on violin and viola (Gorillaz, Blur), cellist Ben Trigg (Arctic Monkeys, Unkle, Jamie Collum), Jesper Lind (Jack Savoretti), Nikolai Bjerre (Lamb), Jack Cowens (Dub Pistols/Bondax), and many others.

As a writer/producer Andreas’ co-writes has sold close to a million copies with artists like Kevin Lyttle (USA), Armand Van Helden (USA), Nate James (UK), Stefanie Heinzmann (Tyskland) and as a remixer, producer, session player and engineer he has colaborated with people like Dido, Rizzle Kicks, Vybz Kartel, Sam And The Womp, Beenie Man, Nerina Pallot, Loick Essien and many others.

‘Trust Is My Anchor’ is the first single from Andreas’ upcoming September album release; ‘Disturbed’.

The song is about being on the verge of a big move, a giant step, or leap into the unknown – And it’s about all the doubting and delaying involved, and the efforts to stay strong. – A song of hope, fear and trust.

Andreas writes catchy, alternative pop songs with inspirations from artists like: David Bowie, Tom Petty, Soundgarden, Elliot Smith and The Zombies….
