From the first crackles and pops in the opening of Metasic’s new video “New Design” I know I was in for a sonic reward. Well constructed and polished in a reckless sort of way with a blistering guitar tone / deep bass frontal assault clearing the beach for the upcoming invasion of Joshua Woo’s piercing vocals. Josh is well on his way to taking the crown from Faith No More’s Mike Patton and taking what he’s done to the next level. The video is a valid representation of this as well. Almost done in a post-apocalyptic fashion with a visually destructive sensibility about itself, the video for “New Design” is the perfect eye candy for a new music assault.

About Metasic:
A heavy rock five piece from the South East of England, Metasic are a band with all the quality to join the greats in their genre. Dedicated to their craft and with the high quality output to prove it, they’re now readying themselves for the release of their epic single ‘New Design’. There’s always been something thrilling and feral about the marriage of distorted guitar and pounding drums, but Metasic bring a melodic twist to the genre not often seen.

Written as a statement against the rising right wing politics in Britain, songwriter Joshua wanted to take a stand against the growing tensions between different social groups, races, religions and classes. Not a political band by design, the lyrics simply came to Joshua as part of an impassioned protest against what he sees as a growing tide of bigotry and inequality in the UK – a keenly felt observation from a working class, mixed race observer.

Metasic as a band have been well received by rock fans wherever they have travelled, finding comparisons to the likes of Faith No More, Queens of the Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails. In ‘New Design’ however they have a single which leans closer to the sounds of Incubus, right down to the smooth, pure rock vocal.

No stranger to turning heads in the industry even at an early stage, Metasic are now hoping that their new single can help them capitalise on the attention they’re getting from within the business. Having supported The Hoosiers, the band were also handpicked by We Are Scientists to be included on a tribute album, covering their track ‘Call Backs’.

And, with radio support already coming from local stations, Metasic are looking to take it bigger with this epic new release. In it for the long haul, this is a band who know how hard it is to keep making progress, willing to – in their own words – ‘work our way up from the bottom to the top, no shortcuts, no dirty tricks’.

With more releases like ‘New Design’, no dirty tricks will be necessary.

This is the second release on Tradiio Recordings, a new record label set up to release the best performing artists on Tradiio, a music discovery app for iOS, Android and Web.
