1. The Movies Gom Jabbar 3:14

Born in 1978 behind the Iron Curtain, Bulgarian-American singer-songwriter Gom Jabbar’s childhood was steeped in Eastern-European folk and Western classical music. He began creating music in his teenage years, but, perhaps unsurprisingly, turning initially to “cool” urban genres like Hip-Hop, Breakbeat, and Drum & Bass.

In his early 20’s, Gom Jabbar’s lyricism took him to Alternative & Indie Rock explorations, collected in a self-released singer-songwriter album. He then took a long break from music to focus on family, returning with the full force of adulthood in 2019, and creating a whildwind of experimental, genre-bending, and lyrically fierce singles.

Some of Gom Jabbar’s most noticeable influences include: Sting, Buena Vista Social Club, Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Eminem, Tom Lehrer, Monty Python. And, of course, Frank Herbert’s Dune and Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, to name a few books.
