Her Leather Jacket has today released their new single titled ‘Famous’. Such a haunting beginning from an inspiring guitar riff that builds the song into a sonic fervor with a minimalist style. This is how a good song should introduce itself. Give just a taste and let it all come in, hang out, and tune in.

‘Famous’, to me, is the perfect song to introduce the artist to all of those yet to be initiated to new music. It has that style and certain panache meant for the stage and birthed in the hearts of artists that bear it all and hold back nothing. With instrumentation that accentuates the raw emotion peppered throughout, ‘Famous’ is a song that defines the style of a true indie group while letting you know there is more where that came from.

About ‘Famous’

Produced by Aaron Gillespie of Underoath and The Almost, “Famous” features intense instrumentals, vulnerable lyrics, and an ethereal vibe, giving their audience something they haven’t heard before from Her Leather Jacket. The stripped-down verses allow for the message of the lyrics to shine through, while the contrasting high-energy chorus offers a stark contrast and serves as an explosion of emotions. “Famous,” written by Manny Blu, Johnny Gates, and Aaron Gillespie, illustrates the ups and downs of trying to be successful and allows the listener to relate it to their own life. “It’s an introspective song drawing on our experience of being in Nashville and trying to be taken seriously as an artist,” explains the duo. “Johnny and Aaron are killer songwriters to work with, and while the song is definitely personal, the message has a relatable theme for anyone trying to make it.” The single was mixed by Matt Huber (Smallpools, Boys Like Girls) and mastered by Grammy-nominee Adam Grover (Green Day, Zach Bryan).

Her Leather Jacket is a Nashville-based rock duo consisting of lead singer Manny Blu and drummer Wes Snyder. The band pulls from different genres, seamlessly blending elements of punk, alternative, and rock. Her Leather Jacket takes inspiration from bands like Good Charlotte, Bring Me the Horizon and Falling in Reverse as they blur the lines to create their pop-punk, alternative rock sound. Gearing up to drop their EP this July, the band has recently released “Cut Me Up” and “Cloud 9” and has been praised by notable publications, including New Noise Magazine, antiMusic, Divine Magazine, and more.

About Her Leather Jacket

East Nashville-based rock band Her Leather Jacket is already making a name for themselves as the spirit of the early pop-punk scene prevails in the music and the atmosphere they create. When Manny Blu (vocals) found himself in the right setting, he was finally able to create the band and the music he wanted since moving to Nashville in 2018. Blu had an open slot for a best friend, and drummer Wes Snyder was first in line. Citing such influences as Blink-182, The All-American Rejects, and All Time Low, the duo’s debut self-titled EP released in the Fall of 2023 embracing the pop-punk sound, but they’re calling 2024 their “Fuck You” Era with a chaotically epic new EP on the horizon.

The essence of HLJ: make good fucking music and have a good fucking time.
