Naylor’s Notes: Carissa Leigh

    Naylor’s Notes

While watching Carissa’s Video, “Bad Boy.” It’s not hard to tell that she love’s to be out with her friends & family. She likes to act silly with them, but it didn’t take long to figure out that she finds herself with the bad boy’s from time to time. It seem’s her motto is, “If you’re gonna give a boy your time, it’s gotta be, “A bad, bad, bad, bad, boy.” See what she had to say from our 1st Shot Music Interview.

    Introducing: Carissa Leigh

    When did you start singing?
I’ve been singing my whole life! I have always loved country music

    Which instruments do you play?
I play piano and I’m learning guitar.

Describe your music interests and abilities?
I love writing music! It’s very therapeutic. I love the whole creative process… From writing to making a work tape into a demo into the final product, I like to be involved the whole way. It’s like watching something you imagined come to life!

What other famous musicians inspire you?
There are a lot of amazing artists out right now. I love Eric Church, his songwriting is great and he’s a fun live show. I also love Miranda Lambert. I think every girl does! She speaks her mind and kills it on stage.

What is some of your best musical memories? Say at your house or in your neighborhood. The 1st memory ever made in front of a crowd?
For my very first piano recital, I was 3 or 4, I had practiced songs from my Suzuki notebook all year. I remember my piano teacher came and played with me and I was so pleased with myself, afterward I kept taking bow after bow until my mom called me off the stage. I’ve been hooked on performing ever since!

What public events do you have coming up?
Right now I’m doing a radio tour which is a lot of fun because my guitar player and I get to travel around the country playing for stations. I will be releasing a couple new songs as well in September so stay tuned!!

What would you say to beginning musicians, who are nervous?
The most important part of music is getting the emotion across. You need to rehearse until you could do it in your sleep and then when you step on the stage, let the muscle memory take over and focus on connecting with the audience!

How do you balance your music with family and friends?
It’s a tough thing to do! I FaceTime and text a lot. I try to put my phone down when I’m home and interact with people face to face. It’s easy to get wrapped up in the technology but I definitely appreciate when I have lunch with someone who doesn’t check their phone every 5 minutes so I try to do the same!

Should we be expecting anything new to be released?
I am going to release a few songs to follow up the Blackbird EP on ITunes, the best way to keep up to date on that is through social media! I’m on there all the time!

Where can we follow your career at?

Midnight Dawn Vows To Bring Realistic Portrayal Of Espionage

MTD Studios is proud to announce that its new spy thriller, Midnight Dawn, has entered production. The drama began principal photography throughout Florida and will be released on multiple digital platforms early next year.

Midnight Dawn is a dark and gritty thriller about a spy who is betrayed by his handler. Michael Opal portrays this handler and briefly discusses the project, “Working on a well plotted spy thriller is an actor’s dream for me. I’m excited to start working on the complexity of the character and digging into the inner workings of espionage. I know the producers are striving to create the most realistic depiction of what happens behind the curtain.”

“With intense research, the producers portray as accurate a view of espionage as possible.” Michael Dunn continues, “Reading numerous declassified government materials and studying spies who were exposed in public gave me some insight. We even studied the techniques of professional assassins. We really want this movie to be taken seriously yet still entertain.” Then Producer Gabriel Cash chimes in, “We really hope our film is viewed by real spies who respond – saying that Midnight Dawn was pretty accurate… That espionage work is all about the shades of gray. Then, we know we succeeded.”

Veteran actress Cyndi Crotts portrays Debra Walters, an agency analyst that pieces together the conspiracy that Johnson had created by misusing his asset for personal gain. “I like the challenge. The film is a bit of a departure from the horror films for which I am known. I really like the witty banter between the friends or rivals in this script. I’m really excited to be a part of this film.”

Actor Kibwe Dorsey is playing the tactical expert Andy Reynolds, hired to track down the rogue spy. Dorsey comments, “There are so many gifted and talented people who never get a chance… so I don’t take anything for granted. I’m thankful for every opportunity God allows me to receive.” Dunn adds, “Kibwe brings a lot of energy to Andy. His character has a brilliant mind and he always knows what is going to happen before it actually does.”

Producer Gabriel Cash is enthusiastic about the darker nature of this film. “Our last feature film (Bloody 27) was light and campy. It’s a nice change to be dark and serious. Many of the characters are really screwed up and it makes the story more interesting.” Director Michael Dunn adds, “Well, serious to a point. I wrote the script so it’s still got some humor in it. It’s definitely a more dramatic approach than our previous project.”

Jamie Belanger Banta portrays Stacy, an I.T. specialist for the agency. Actress Banta discusses the role, “It is really wonderful to be working with this cast and crew again. Almost all the crew members, with whom I worked on Alone & Restless, are still here doing what they love. I have such a fun character, too. She’s smart and savvy – I love all the technology she uses, too.”

The Alex Frielings Company will handle the Dolby Digital audio mix and soundtrack for the upcoming feature film. As sound producer, Frielings is looking forward to the opportunities this project presents. “This film is mostly a drama, but we do have some clever action sequences planned. I’m really excited about those scenes in particular. The gun battles and fight sequences really present some amazing challenges and I think it will help the sound mix shine.”

Midnight Dawn will be executive produced by Gabriel Cash and directed by independent film director Michael Thomas Dunn. The official movie web site for Midnight Dawn is located at www.mtdstudios.com/midnightdawn

Archstone Releases “P-51 Dragon Fighter” on DVD/VOD August 19

Archstone Distribution announces the US DVD/VODrelease of the World War II sci-fi, action/adventure film P-51 Dragon Fighter on August 19. P-51 Dragon Fighter will be available through Video-On-Demand (VOD) and Pay-Per-View on Comcast, Cox, Dish Network, Frontier, and Verizon, and on DVDat Family Video, Hastings, Video Warehouse, and your favorite online retailer such as Amazon.com.

Directed by Mark Atkins (Battle of Los Angeles) and starring Scott Martin (The Rig) as Lt. John Robbins and Stephanie Beran (Fatal Call) as Rachel McKee, P-51 Dragon Fighter is a high-energy, sci-fi, action/adventure which takes place during World War II. As the allies advance in North Africa, the Nazis, led by Hitler’s fascination with the Occult, unleash an ancient terror. Out of the night sky, the Allies are ambushed by dragons. Facing annihilation, a rag tag group of P-51 pilots are sent on a desperate mission to fight the dragons and save the war.

Director Mark Atkins notes: “When Scott Martin and Michael Slifkin approached me about working with them on P-51 Dragon Fighter, I was honored for two reasons: First after having such a rewarding time working on Battle Force, I was keen to work on something else with Archstone. Second was having the opportunity to create an epic sci-fi fantasy action movie set against the backdrop of North Africa in WW II. What happens when fire-breathing dragons controlled by a secret occult unit of the Nazis go up against a skilled but volatile group of pilots chosen from every corner of the allied fighting force? From our stellar cast and crew to the visual effects wizards at Rogue State, everyone worked exceptionally hard to deliver the answer in P-51 Dragon Fighter.”

P-51 Dragon Fighter was produced by Scott Martin and Michael Slifkin, of Archstone Pictures.

Scott Martin, comments: “Our goal was to deliver to the sci-fi audience exactly what you expect from the title, its Dragons versus P-51 Mustangs. And we enjoyed working with this cast and crew, so we’re very pleased that we are now bringing this film to the audience.”

Producer Michael Slifkin adds: “With the partners we have on this project, the production value is off the charts for a film this size.”

424 Post (Academy Award Nominee for Apocalypto) provided the post work and sound design, and Rogue State (Dragons of Camelot) created the special effects. All props and set designs were provided by ISS Props, supplier to every major studio in Hollywood.

Julian Carr and Yasiel Puig Sign Endorsement Deal

Rudy Project, Italian designers and engineers of precision sunglasses and helmets, is proud to announce a partnership with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig to wear its technologically advanced eyewear while on the baseball field for the remainder of his rookie Major League season in 2014 and the 2015 Season.

The 22-year-old Cuban has rocketed into stardom after making his Major League Baseball debut with the Dodgers on August 5th. With 44 hits in July, registering as the second-most in MLB history for a player during their debut month, Puig became the first player in baseball history to simultaneously win both the National League Rookie of the Month and Player of the Month Awards.

Although Rudy Project is more commonly known in cycling and running sports, having an athlete like Yasiel Puig wear our sunglasses while playing for the Dodgers will allow our brand to be widely recognized as we enter into the baseball market,” remarked Rudy Project North America Co-owner Steve Wagner. “All of us within the company are proud that Puig chose Rudy Project eyewear and sunglasses to be his choice on and off the field. We’ll keep making the best eyewear in the world and hope Puig just keeps everyone in awe of his play.

Rudy Project is the premier brand of Running and Cycling Enterprises (RACE) and is a global leader in technologically advanced sports helmets, clothing and sunglasses – with award-winning frames, lenses and many prescription technologies. For more than 25 years, Rudy Project has designed sport sunglasses for elite and professional athletes, meeting the requirements for a wide variety of sports, including cycling, running, golf, shooting, tennis and fishing. Puig has become Rudy Project’s first premier MLB athlete endorser as the brand enters into the baseball market.

The Rudy Project sunglasses Puig wears on the field and other eyewear products are available online at www.e-rudy.com or at various retailers throughout the U.S., including optometrist offices, running stores and bicycle shops. For a limited time, consumers can take advantage of the Puig Special Offer and receive a free casual sunglass model when purchasing his favorite sports sunglass model or RX on the company’s website at e-rudy.com

While smashing records on the field, one of Puig’s go-to glasses has been the Rudy Project Magster. Crafted through a tedious but very effective digital modeling system, the Magster incorporates a number of breakthrough technical components including a stainless steel perforated grill built directly into the frame which allows optimal airflow to prevent fogging – a must while playing baseball. Another unique innovation, the Magster utilizes anti-shock pads made from megol, a highly engineered designer plastic compound embedded into both the frame and lens to create a vibration dampening system. Combined with Rudy Project’s fully adjustable nose pads and temple tips for a precise and custom fit, the Magster becomes an indispensable pair of sports eyewear.

The Rudy Project Genetyk sunglasses have also become a necessity for Puig while in the outfield. With an eye-shield design, the Genetyk offers unparalleled coverage from wind, debris and UV rays while remaining ultra-light. Their wraparound architecture allows for unobstructed peripheral vision and includes Rudy Project’s patented Quick Change™ system – allowing the glasses to effortlessly adapt in changing lighting conditions. Over 30 different lens styles ensure perfect customization for every sport, and include the Unbreakable ImpactX™ Photochromic lenses, which are based on Apache helicopter windshield panels.

When he is not in uniform, Puig can be seen relaxing in his favorite casual Rudy Project glasses, the Skymajor. These classic aviator style glasses bring together relaxed, vintage character with all the advanced technology you would expect from Italian made sports eyewear. Fusing chrome, gold or gunmetal frames with 360 degree adjustable temple tips and Rudy Project’s award-winning ImpactX PhotoPolar Lenses – which allow users to cut glare like traditional polarized lenses, but still allow users to clearly read the LCD screen on their GPS, phone or gadget. This technology won Rudy Project “Gear of the Year” from esteemed Outside Magazine.

For those who need prescription sunglass solutions, all of Puig’s favorite glasses and many more Rudy Project models are available with either intuitive optical inserts, or with cutting edge FreeForm Tek™ lenses. Rudy Project’s FreeForm Tek™ design utilizes back surface optics, an innovative way of widening the field of vision in various ranges by bringing the sighting surface closer to the eye. This surface is digitally crafted using Eyepoint Technology™, which simulates how the human eye actually looks through the lens with thousands of reference points to create the perfect prescription lens.

In celebration of the partnership between the rookie sensation and Italian sportswear company, Rudy Project is launching the ‘Puig Special Offer.’ This limited-time deal enables those who wish to deck themselves out in the same gear as Puig to buy one of his favorite sports sunglass models or RX, and receive a free casual sunglass model in the program. Simply visit www.e-rudy.com/go/puig to take advantage of this special limited time offer.

Startup Takes On The Guitar Industry With Guitar Pickup

Dialtone Pickups, a new-generation electric guitar pickup, has gained strong traction and early adopters with its patent-pending pickup technology. Born out of the difficulty that John Liptac, the company’s founder, faced while trying to achieve a particular sound in his own guitar, Dialtone allows musicians to adjust tone using two dials built directly into the guitar’s pickups. Dialtone’s modern yet simple approach provides players unprecedented flexibility in achieving desired sounds, including attaining new tones never before possible through a traditional guitar pickup.

Specifically, the company has developed a drop-in humbucking replacement that players can use in their existing guitars. Adjusting tone through the guitar’s pickup allows musicians to manage the true tone of their ax, coloring sounds already present in their guitars rather than adding artificial effects after the signal has been produced. The company has already drawn attention from leading guitar manufacturers and musicians, and offers a promising product that players around the world are itching to try.

    Proudly Made in America
Each year, tens of thousands of mass-produced pickups made in overseas factories are imported to the U.S. Made down to a price, these imported pickups are designed as general replacements to produce an adequate sound for the average player. Dialtone Pickups is different. Family-owned and operated, and based in Livermore, California, Dialtone Pickups are designed, manufactured, and assembled in the U.S. using premium quality components and utmost care. The Dialtone team produces its pickups by hand, including winding coils, assembling, and testing components one-by-one.

    Leading Change:
Accessing tone through the pickup is arguably the most efficient and effective way to alter a guitar’s true tone. Led by a team experienced in the music and technology industries, and founded by a physicist with expertise in pulse-shaping analog electronics, Dialtone is poised to alter the way technology is used guitar pickups.

A Self-Help Book Disguised As Fantasy Adventure

Demethius Jackson believes readers will strongly identify with the characters of his latest novel, “The Realmsic Conquest: The Hero of Legend”, (348 pages, ISBN: 978-1500596118). Its story of empowerment showcases how a life journey, no matter how difficult, is necessary to discover one’s own purpose and ability.

Like many growing up in Washington, DC during the 1980’s, Jackson coped with extreme hardships. Yet, continuous encouragement and guidance uplifted him above those obstacles. Now, through his blog ObsessedWithProgress.com, and his coming-of-age novels, Jackson intends to encourage other teens and young adults who are working to reach their potentials.

His latest work is the first installment of The Realmsic Conquest book trilogy. The literary novel takes place in the fictional land known as The Realm–the only magical kingdom in existence, which has also been ravaged by endless warfare. The Realm’s newest leader, King Maebus, has ruled only for six days, and now must overcome his own insecurities to guide his people through their most perilous conflict ever.

As an early preview, a limited number of copies were released during the summer of 2013. Jackson’s novel received great reviews. Librarian, Portia P reviewed the book as “a fantastic story on many levels,” while Foreword Reviews appreciated its ability to “[build] momentum with timeless themes.” Jackson acknowledged that such statements “…prove that an audience does exist for Self-Help Fantasy.”

Demethius Jackson is an alumnus of American University’s School of Communications in Washington, D.C. Throughout his ten-year career, Jackson held positions at global media and cinema companies. In July 2010, he published his first book. Initially releasing ‘The Realmsic Conquest’ as a completely rhyming epic-adventure, he spent the following years expanding the story of the Realm at the request of fan-feedback.

Legendary Rock Guitarist To Perform Solo Show in Long Island

Guitarist/Singer-Songwriter Ricky Byrd released his solo debut album, Lifer, on February 5, 2013 (Kayos Records). Recorded in Nashville and New York City, Executive Produced by Ray Kennedy (five-time Grammy Award Winner, Steve Earle, Ray Davies, Sheryl Crow) and co-produced by Byrd and Bob Stander, it features Byrd’s knack for classic hooks and jagged riffs, which gloriously sets the table for cut after meaningful cut.

The former longtime Blackhearts guitar slinger (1981 – 1991) whose monstrous power chords helped define Joan Jett & The Blackhearts “I Love Rock & Roll”, is a restless New York City poet who carries a torch for the town he loves, along with enough handbags and glad rags to make you feel like it’s 1974 all over again.

“My main goal with this record was to try and craft the songs with the same heart and soul that filled the music I listened to as a kid in my parents Bronx apartment — the music that even at that young age, made the hair go up on my arms,” states Ricky.

“Though best known for his work with Joan Jett, Ricky Byrd also created an important and memorable body of work as a composer whose songs have been recorded by no less than 45 other artists and have been featured in film and television. Besides Joan Jett, he has also worked with such musical luminaries as Roger Daltrey, Ian Hunter and Richie Supa.” -Shirley Pena, NY Rock Music Examiner

The Lifer album kicks off with “Rock ‘n’ Roll Boys,” an over-the-shoulder tribute to the old glitter glam haunt Max’s, where Byrd got his first real taste of the other side of life. “Foolish Kind” in particular is a time-machine all its own, replete with sunny organ fills and Byrd’s whiskey-soaked guitars weaving rich tapestries together as one as they do throughout the entire album. The soulful plea “Wide Open,” the tongue in cheek “Married Man” and the driving “Harlem Rose” all stay true to Byrd’s vision of making the music that first captivated him, but it’s the closer, “Turnstile ‘01” that may give the listener the deepest pause. It’s Byrd coming to grips with post-9/11 New York City, his chiming valentine to the Big Apple, a poignant, plaintive downtown tribute that rings things out exquisitely.

“From his roll into the parking lot in his gorgeous black muscle car, we knew that Ricky Byrd was going to ROCK.I was honored to host Ricky Byrd, solo-acoustic August 7 at Route 7 Music in Brookfield CT. I knew this cat could play guitar, but was blown away by his vocal ability. Combine Otis Redding, Rod Stewart, Sam Cooke and Al Green with Ricky’s unbelievable delivery and this voice will move every bone in your body while taking up residency in your heart. Our performance room is small, yet Ricky performed in a big way. The relationship between his voice and his guitar is an intimate one. His voice lays right over the top in the driving rock and roll and melodic ballads. Don’t let the hard edge rock exterior fool you, this guy writes beautiful chord progressions that stick.

If you are looking for a great event/house concert/performance I recommend you call Ricky Byrd. Not only did he please the audience with his music, he made everyone feel like his best friend. Personable, funny and SO EASY to work with, Ricky took us on a musical journey that mad us smile, made us think and made us feel. Thank you Ricky for a great evening. I was always a fan but now I feel like a friend.” – Lucinda Rowe

NH Filmmaker Takes A Bite Out Of Vampire Genre With Book Of Film

A mild-mannered historian meets the woman of his dreams, but she’s got a secret. She’s an 800-year-old vampire seeking to be human again. Together can they break the curse and free her from an eternity of torment?

That’s the story behind NH writer Tim Morgan’s short film, My DreamGirl Was A Vampire. The story follows Grant (Billy J. Pomerleau) in his quest to free beautiful vampire Stefanie (Kimberley Miller). The movie was originally envisioned as a film festival entry and filmed entirely in NH. Morgan decided to release the film after the festival season ends through Amazon Instant Video.

In preparation for the release, Morgan is releasing a book of the film that includes the original script, notes on the production, and full-color stills and behind-the-scenes photos. The book will launch on Amazon.com on August 16, 2014. My DreamGirl Was A Vampire: The Book of the Film will be available in paperback and Kindle editions.

“I’m excited for this movie,” says writer/director/producer Tim Morgan. “Aside from being a good story about two complex characters, this is an inside look at what goes into making an indie film. You’ll get to see the challenges and the rewards of making a movie in a short period of time with a tight budget.”

Communicator App Gives Voice to the Non Verbal

This week the iAssist Company launched the Communicator app, designed to meet the needs of individuals with severe cognitive and communication challenges. Currently there are two million individuals with autism in the US, and up to 40% of those individuals will not acquire natural language during their lifetime. Although there are many apps designed for young children with autism, the Communicator is the very first app designed specifically to meet the needs of teens and adults.

“There is a rising demand for products and services for teens and adults with autism. In my experience, appropriate supports can make the difference in quality of life for both the individual with autism and their families.” states Jeff Schaetzle. “As a clinician, this has been a huge frustration. I am grateful to iAssist for focusing on this underserved and vulnerable population. Their efforts may open the door for many to more independent lives in their homes, the workplace and in their communities.”

Wendy Bellack, the parent of an adult male with autism, says “After the completion of high school, it became very difficult to find options for my son. It’s no surprise that the first app for teens and adults was designed by a parent who faced the same challenges as I did.”

    The Communicator is
•Affordable, costing 80% less than the current market leader
•Features a sleek, mature design, which eliminates the stigma, associated with the adult use of apps designed for young children.
•Uses actual photos rather than abstract drawing making it more appropriate for those with classic autism.
•Provides training videos, additional quality photos and other support material on the iAssist website.

The Heart of Hip Hop releases hit single, “Spoken”

Sharon “Spoken Word” Lawrence is a poet, human rights activist, writer, actress, performer and promoter. Through her performances, she’s had a powerful impact on the hearts and souls of her fans, and is often remembered by the uplifting powerful and positive messages she produces through her work. Spoken Word is an artist first whose main goal is to encourage those who need to be encouraged and shed light on those who walk in the dark.

“I’m not just an entertainer. I am a performer and I like to think, read books, learn, tell stories, and encourage others. I am a poet and an emcee. I will never doubt who I am for the love that I have for myself and hope that others in this world feel as blessed as I! If I could sing, I would probably sing every sentence. Lol Instead God gave me the gift to speak loud enough for people to really hear me. I am absolutely grateful for that!

Sharon “Spoken Word” Lawrence was born in small town Suffolk, VA where she grew up in a low income neighborhood during the time drugs flooded poorer black communities throughout the nation. A recession was a normal thing for her household where she was the middle child of four in a single parent home. In the midst of it all, she developed a gift that would change her life forever. She learned how to rap. By the time she was 12, she was performing in local schools. One of the highlights of her life was performing an educational rap over the loud speaker for her peers. Her first poem was published at the age of 13, and placed on the back of the schools programs for her eighth grade graduation. Literally, it was her passion that gave her inspiration to do positive things through the arts.

In May 2009 she released her first album, “Hip Hop Will Never Die”. The album gained international attention and placed in online stores all over the world. She released her second studio album, “After the Pain” on July 24, 2010. In May of 2014, she published her first book entitled, “Spoken Word for the Soul from the Soul” (A Life Changing Poetry Collection). Now becoming a household name, she has released three new pieces that was published by MTV early in 2014, and released by Spinnup (A company developed by Universal Music Group in Sweden) on July 21, 2014 that will appear on her next album which is due to be released later on this year.

“One of my main goals as an artist is to heal the wounded heart through my work. I feel as if I have been called by God to do exactly what it is that I am doing today. When you look at the world, there are all types of inflictions that tend to eat away at the human heart. Who am I if I cannot be a healer in that? I am a warrior princess in the aspect that my gift is often used to speak for the voiceless. God is with me everywhere I go”.

    vocals & guitars: garrett bourdon.
pedal steel, harmonica & bgv: jack kirton.
    violin & piano: john tunstall.

“Tab Spencer was the stage name of a Country songwriter in the 70s from Nashville TN, and is survived by his son, Garrett Bourdon. The current group and upcoming EP release is a result of musicians from Chattanooga coming together around Garrett’s folk vision. Tab Spencer’s music is a combination of traditional country-bluegrass slowed down with lyrics set in a thoroughly modern setting. Bourdon’s voice is both simple and haunting. Tab Spencer is a Tennessee son with an urban memory whose lyrics hail from the South and the back porch.”

2 Million Children Learned English Through this Duo’s Music

A household name in much of Europe, Israel and Central America, Helen Doron has become synonymous with English as a Second Language (ESL) from very young children up through adolescents. A linguist by profession, Ms. Doron pioneered the internationally renowned Helen Doron methodology of teaching English to young children in the same way as they learn their mother tongue. Nearly three decades years later, her very successful methodology is franchised in 33 countries, and over 2 million children have learned to speak English, thanks to her pioneering methodology.

Her music partner, Niko Levy, is well-known for his spiritual music seminars and vast repertoire of compositions on a variety of instruments. Together, this very talented pair merged to write a remarkable number of songs from nearly every genre in existence.

Helen Doron described the importance of music in her approach, “Music is the most important element of my methodology. When you have music, you have the feeling, the meter and the rhyme of the language. When you recall songs from your childhood, it gives you a warm, tingly feeling and you remember what you liked. When you learn a language through music, the grammar and vocabulary are built right in. We do a lot of work to make sure that grammar is taught and reinforced, although we don’t actually teach grammar rules. The students love the songs and we also do a lot with movement, so they also have the kinesthetic side of learning. It doesn’t matter if the kid is 3 months old or 18 years old, they love the music and learn through it. “

Helen Doron’s more than 3,700 teachers claim they never get tired of teaching these songs, as they are fun, interesting and even challenging. Children can deal with strong, complex musical themes and Niko Levy’s pieces include harmonies and tempos that teach a child music appreciation, along with melodies and cadences. “His creations are sophisticated and even complicated, so the children don’t get tired of hearing them.” Ms. Doron explained, “He carefully works on every song and each composition’s music relates to the text. “

Niko reflected, “I remember when we had been working together for 5 years and I attended my first Helen Doron conference. One of the teachers approached me and said, ‘I never get tired of listening to your music, even though it was written for children. Even the parents marvel over how much they enjoy it.’”

About the Helen Doron Educational Group
The Helen Doron Educational Group stands at the forefront of innovative educational systems, providing exclusive learning programmes and quality educational materials for babies, children and adolescents the world over since 1985. The company’s flagship franchise, Helen Doron English, today encompasses over 760 learning centres in 33 countries in Europe, Asia and South America. More than two million children today speak English as a second language thanks to Helen Doron English.

The Helen Doron English franchise model invites entrepreneurs to join a successful business operation that benefits children around the world. Visit us at www.helendoron.com.

DISCIPLE Launches Its ATTACK Sept. 23

Rock band Disciple releases its first new album in nearly two years, Attack, independently worldwide through The Fuel Music Sept. 23. The crowd-funded and 10th studio album is also the first recording featuring front man, founding member and band leader Kevin Young’s newly formed powerhouse line-up. Writing, recording and touring with Young are four new Disciple members, but established musicians in their own right: Josiah Prince from Philmont and Andrew Stanton from I Am Empire on guitars, Jason Wilkes from High Flight Society on bass and vocals, and Joey West from After Edmund on drums.

It’s Disciple’s best lineup ever,” says Young. “They have the perfect combination of being great players and performers, and are ridiculously talented songwriters. One of my favorite things about these guys is that they have embraced where Disciple has been and love to play the classic songs for our fans, as well as have put every ounce of their souls into trying to take Disciple higher than we’ve ever been. I think our fans have embraced them for that in return.

While each of the band members except for Young are new, Disciple brought back into the mix Travis Wyrick (P.O.D., Pillar, TobyMac), who produced the first seven Disciple records. “I hadn’t worked with Travis in six years, but we knew this was going to be a hard, aggressive record. Travis recorded all of our hardest albums and working with him was like going home.”

A year in the making, and with the added freedom of now being independent for the first time since 2003, Disciple’s resulting album offers hard, experimental and atmospheric elements with “Dead Militia,” “Lion” and “Angels And Demons,” as well as gives a nod to long-time Disciple fans with “The Name” and the album’s lead single, “Radical.”

I wanted to talk about Jesus loudly and without shame,” says Young. “That’s why ‘Radical’ is the first track and our first single. It sets the tone for what we want people to hear. We talk about Jesus openly at every show. We do an altar call. That is who we are and that is what Disciple is called to do, and we hope that people hear the new music and say ‘Yeah, now THAT’S Disciple!’

We wrote this record as a new band,” continues Young. “Attack is the right album title because that’s what we did with every song. Every band member contributed in a huge way to this album. Everybody brought songs to the table that we all worked on, and made each other’s songs better. It was definitely a well-coordinated attack on all sides.

    ABOUT DISCIPLE:
Formed in 1992, Disciple has recorded 10 albums, played thousands of shows worldwide, headlined tours since the late 90’s, has 14 No. 1 singles, sold hundreds of thousands of records, received multiple Dove Awards and nominations, had its music featured by ESPN’s NFL Live, WWE, Fox Sports, as well as in commercials for CBS’ CSI: Miami and Criminal Minds, and more. Denis Benoit Announces New Artist Management Company

Veteran Concert Promoter, Denis Benoit, announced the launch of a new Artist Management Company, Benoit Music Group. The company offers Artist Management services for both emerging and established recording artists across all musical genres.

“The music industry has overcomplicated itself,” said Denis Benoit, President, Benoit Music Group. “Now more than ever, and with an abundance of online do-it-yourself resources available to anyone wanting to launch their own career in music, the most basic and fundamental principles required to build and maintain a powerful brand in music have been forgotten.

“For an artist to be successful in this industry, which I consider nowadays to be an extremely cluttered online environment, an emotional connection between the artist and fan needs to be established; something a computer program or website cannot do. We’re taking a nostalgic approach to artist management, coupled with a unique mix of current and traditional marketing methods. Our strategy is simple, unique and will achieve astounding results for our Artists,” said Benoit.

The company, based out of Toronto, ON Canada, also offers a variety of other development services geared towards artist management companies, record labels and concert promoters to help develop and enhance existing music related brands.

NYC’s Dream Logic Breakout LP Plus Free Download

    12352046-thedreamlogic2

New York trio The Dream Logic announce breakout sophomore album “My Black Arts’ Free Download of single “Drunken Monkey” HERE or stream it in the player above.

Dynamic and unpredictable, The Dream Logic are a trio who deal in impactful funk rock music with several left-field twists. Experienced musicians with eclectic influences, they are a group who keep the audience guessing with some masterful bending of genre.

With added elements of rootsy modern soul, this band is happiest working across styles with influences ranging from country tropes to subtle jazz moments. What every track has in common though, is assured quality.

A ‘band’ of three friends who have gigged together over the years and only recently decided to record together, the trio are now celebrating the release of their rocking second album ‘My Black Arts’.

With songs written over a long period by primary songwriter Charles Compo (guitar, vocals, flute) and developed with long time partners Jerry Brooks (bass guitar) and Camille Gainer Jones (drums), this is their second LP – a follow up to last year’s self-titled debut. Both albums have been the result of organic music making between three skilled musicians who enjoy playing and writing together, but for the new LP the group were joined in the studio by additional guitarists Eric Krasno (Soulive, Lettuce) and Vernon Reid (Living Colour) – a classy pair of players who also laid down their own contribution.

This result second album of 14 genre splicing songs of top quality. For a taster of ‘My Black Arts’, check out funky album track ‘Drunken Monkey’:

The album as a whole is described by the band as ‘the story of the secret life around us’, those intangible moments in life when you know things are happening around you but you can’t put your finger on what, how or why. Recorded in New York’s prestigious ‘The Cutting Room’ studio, the new album echoes the raw talent on show for the band’s 2013 debut, developing the sound further and placing the experienced musicians on a more assured footing than ever.

Between the members of the band, there is a lot of stage and recording experience, having played and toured with the likes of D’Angelo, Joan Jett, Christina Aguilera, Les Nubians and many others. And, if there is anything approaching a ‘mission statement’ for the band, it’s that they want to distil all that experience down into songs that are simple, but effective. Perhaps the band put it best themselves:

“You know how you go someplace like a restaurant or someone’s house and they serve you food that is so simple, you had it a million times before, but somehow it’s just perfect. That’s what we are going for.” – The Dream Logic

‘My Black Arts’ is out now through Chaos Music Company.

Why Is Analog Master Tape the Best Choice for Listening to Classical?

Tone-Pearls Records proudly announces new releases of its records on master tapes and as HD music downloads. Nothing compares to the sound of an original master tape except the sound of the original performance.

I think that there is no excuse for recording music at all,” says Laszlo Gaal, founder of Tone-Pearls Records. “The only acceptable reason for recording music might be the perfect re-creation of the original experience of a listener at a live performance. This is why we developed a new recording technique, and this is why we release original master tapes now.

Piano Music in a Church is now available as a second-generation copy of the original master tape. Master tapes are shipped on half-track and 15 ips audio tapes.

    The main features are:

    • Second-generation copy of the original master tape

    • Half-track 1/4” NOS BASF PER 528

    • Speed: 15 ips (38.1 cm/s)

    • CCIR Equalization

    • Live analogue recording with Tone-Pearls

    • Unprocessed recording

    • Music was captured by just a single pair of microphones and recorded directly to a Nagra IVS TC reel-to-reel tape recorder

    • Recording was made without any manipulation or mixing or post processing.

Tone-Pearls Records’ original masters are actually direct-on-tape session masters. For that reason, even a second generation transfer from the original tape will have fewer deviations from the original performance, compared to any first generation transfer from a typical production master used by a typical record label.

Tone-Pearls Records has tested several professional studio tape recorders being in the lucky position that the tape recorder museum, owned by Tone-Pearls’ expert Vilmos Nagy, has almost 400 different types of reel-to-reel tape recorders made by over 130 companies, from 21 countries. Hungarian STM 610 professional studio tape recorder, having the most musical sound, was selected as dubbing machine. Practically, these master copies do not show any noticeable difference compared to the original session tape.

Those, who are not lucky enough to own a professional tape recorder, may also download a high-definition digital copy of the original master tape.

With eyes closed, many listeners would easily be tricked to think that they are listening to a real live piano performance,” wrote Suave Kajko in Canada Hifi about Piano Music in a Church recording.

Mizz Martinez announces release of “Can U Feel The Way I Feel”

The artist previously known as Eva Martinez, featured vocalist on the Top 10 UK hit “Toca Me” by Fragma, announces the release of her new single “Can U Feel The Way I Feel” under the name Mizz Martinez. The single, a blend of eclectic, neo-progressive Pop/Rock, is planned for global release on September 14, 2014, on all digital platforms, download stores and streaming sites.

Eva originally composed the track for a project by Grammy-winning American house music DJ and producer David Morales. It was subsequently remixed into a more definitive rock tune with a greater emphasis on vocals. “This song is so hypnotic and sexy,” David recalls, “Eva is a true artist that’s very passionate about her art – it’s a pleasure to have worked with such talent.”

The accompanying music video, shot exclusively on location on the island of Ibiza, is in post-production stages and will be released in August 2014.
