Since its inception in 1981 CMJ has been a springboard for the best new music talent from all over the world. The event is recognized for discovering music’s future superstars, years before their commercial breakthroughs.
Past performers include;
Arcade Fire, Feist, Justice, M.I.A., Spoon, Gotye, MGMT, Daft Punk, Eminem, R.E.M, The Killers, Modest Mouse, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Green Day, HAIM, Icona Pop and more.

Prehab consists of brothers Chris Kay on vocals and guitar and Jason Kay on lead guitar with Chris Cantu on bass and Phillip Rhodes on drums. The group has a new project in the works and has lined up Owen Morris to produce the bands follow up to “I Have Not Been Completely Honest” this fall at Sonic Ranch Studios in Texas. “ This is a great year for Prehab, to be able to play the CMJ event and have someone of Owen’s caliber agree to help us make the next record.” said Bass player Chris Cantu. The band looks to release the record in the beginning of 2015.
