Scenius is back with their new video for the track titled ‘Funny Sky’. Scenius has long ago mastered that teetering balance between electronic and elegance. Music as a muse and beat as a behemoth, while keeping it all contained and serene within the confines of the song, for the song.

With a subtle hook and persistent rhythm, ‘Funny Sky’ captures the fear of the unknown and the assurance, reassurance, and affirmation of the known into a scenic visual that follows the fusion as much as the feeling of the song.

About ‘Funny Sky’

With Funny Sky, Scenius pushes darkwave beyond the expected, embracing the genre without succumbing to pure melancholy. A song that feels both introspective and propulsive, shadowy yet strangely uplifting. Lyrically, the track captures the feeling of sensing an impending threat – something beyond our control. It evokes the urge to both brace ourselves and make the most of the present moment.

With warm analog synths driving the track, supported by a trance-inducing groove and a hint of exotic flavor coming from the bassline and the syncopated rhythm, Funny Sky brings fresh depth to the genre while keeping the listeners moving.

About Scenius

Scenius draws inspiration from the early electro-pop outfits – both pre-punk (Kraftwerk, Brian Eno…) and post-punk (New Order, Depeche Mode …), through to contemporary bands (LCD Sound System and Boards Of Canada) – to pursue in their way the same thrilling mission: make vintage synths and rhythm machines sound soulful, touching and catchy. The band is a cross-channel project, composed of Steve Whitfield, based in Leeds, UK (synths), and Fabrice Nau (vocals), based in Angers, France.
