The Best Indie of 2018

Noctorum

As a guitarist myself, Marty Willson-Piper is a legend. Just google him. He actually influenced my playing and style. So when I got to, not only interview him, but find out he’s cool, I was absolutely thrilled!

Their new album, titled ‘The Afterlife’, is an evolution of Marty’s and Dare Wilson’s styles and abilities and a continuation of when musical minds meld, merge and diverge in ways you can never guess.

Noctorum is guitarist/singer-songwriter Marty Willson-Piper and producer Dare Mason. Named for the village Noctorum, located near to their childhood homes on The Wirral (near Liverpool), Dare and Marty liked its association with night and its Latin derivation. This collaboration has an eclectic focus, making the quiet-loud and vice-versa, singing words that might be spoken and playing indoor instruments that should be heard outside. It has to be imagined to exist.
