Easy Sleeper formed as a trio in 2018 when Douglas Guttenberger, Alex Lubeck, and David Poznansky rubbed shoulders in Washington D.C.’s DIY music scene. They began writing songs and connecting their various influences – The Velvet Underground, Built to Spill, and Real Estate among others – to develop the band’s distinct sound.
Easy Sleeper found early success performing at various house venues, bars, and clubs across the East Coast; attaining an informal residency at local favorite, Songbyrd Record Cafe & Music House. The band moved to Los Angeles in 2019 where they found community by hosting DIY shows out of their cavernous Koreatown base of operations.
During the pandemic, they added guitarist/producer Caddy, Lone Ranger. They recorded and released their debut EP Stay Home Always in the spring of 2023.
Easy Sleeper has since played shows across North America, opening for NNAMDI as part of their Spring 2023 tour and recently completing their first headlining tour across the Southwest. Recently, the band’s single “Shock Nerve” earned multiple spins on SiriusXMU and was heavily supported by beloved indie radio stalwart KEXP as well as numerous other indie stations and blogs.
