Animal Scream has released their new video for the track titled ‘Slow Down’ from their upcoming EP dropping this January. An outwardly adventurous track, featuring a subtle hook and a breezy way about it that makes for a sleeper type hit, ‘Slow Down’ is a harmonious delve into imagination and possibilities in a time where that is never more needed.
Almost a feeling as much as a piece of music, ‘Slow Down’ gently takes your hand and guides you through your mind, pointing out what you want versus what you need with the perspective of a stranger and the heart of a mentor. Inspiration now has a theme song.
About ‘Slow Down’
Exploring themes of consciousness, lucid dreams, and realms beyond our control, “Slow Down” is a hazy lo-fi track for a breezy autumn day. Sonically capturing a cacophonous sound actively fighting to achieve tranquility, the tune demonstrates the bliss of artists like Youth Lagoon, Craft Spells, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. Clocking in at just two and a half minutes, the track provides a great screenshot for what’s to come on Animal Scream’s upcoming EP. By reflecting on acts of kindness and forgiveness, the new track acts as a triumphant anthem for those struggling with similar issues.
About Animal Scream
Hailing from the steel capital of the world (Pittsburgh, PA), Animal Scream is a duo consisting of Chad Monticue and Josh Sickels. Creating cinematic, yet otherworldly sounds in the vein of psych-pop psychedelia, the band are heavily influenced by greats such as Radiohead and Beach House. Decadently mixing supernatural and sci-fi elements with more straightforward pop tones, the duo creates earworms that are tender and ominous, yet also emotionally devastating at their core. Currently, Animal Scream is gearing up to release singles from their EP slated for a January 2025 release, entitled Otherworldy Pictures.
