1. Snö Big Fish 02:30

Big Fish is set to drop their new single titled ‘Snö’ (Snow) on October 18th from the upcoming album ‘Fyra Liter Stoft’ (Four liters of dust) releasing in 2025 via Progress Productions. A fresh track coming from a band steeped in musical history that comes out as new and significant as it does in this case is something of a rarity these days. To last this long in the game and not sound stale is one thing; but to take those decades of knowledge and mayhem and release something fit for the 20s’ is timeless.

‘Snö’ is a slow burn and subtle build up to a new you with an almost chant like feel and anthem like approach. Sung and done in their native Swedish tongue, ‘Snö’ shows that the language of music is universal and the grind of groove is timeless.

About Big Fish

The story of the legendary Swedish punk/industrial band Big Fish began in 1988, in the ancient city of Uppsala, when four teenagers decided to form a band after coming back from a trip to West Berlin. Heavily inspired by the avantgarde music in the enclosed city, the original line-up of Big Fish was vocals, upright bass, samplers and scrap metal percussion. After adding guitars in 1990 and moving towards a heavier punk rock sound they became part of the emerging local scene which would subsequently spawn acts like Watain, Misery loves co, Lost Souls, Malaise and Defleshed. But unlike those bands, Big Fish decided to write their lyrics in Swedish which added to their uniqueness.

The band toured frequently in Scandinavia and Europe during the 90s, performing over 500 shows and releasing three studio albums. The 1996 album “Andar i Halsen”, produced by Tom Waits drummer Michael Blair, became the last thing they did before disbanding in 1997 due to members leaving town for work and studies.

The fanbase’s demand for hearing their music and seeing them perform, however, caused Big Fish to reunite in 2016 to do a few shows. And in 2022 they surprised the scene by releasing a brand new album, “Kalla döda drömmar” (Cold dead dreams).

The album was well received by critics and fans alike and was followed by a tour throughout Sweden. Critics described them as “Still one of Sweden’s most heavy and interesting acts” and as “A subculture in its own right”. New material was produced in 2023, and during the fall of 2024 six singles will be released, resulting in the release of the upcoming album “Fyra liter stoft” (Four liters of dust) in 2025.

‘Snö’ is the third release in this series. Its desperate and urgent rock riffs resemble the sounds of contemporary acts such as Viagra boys and IDLES. The lyrics in their native language describes coming back from a bleak metaphorical winter of isolation or intoxication and finding there’s nothing left.
