Set to a tropicali beat, “Feel My Fire” flirts with a calypso groove before cresting with a soaring chorus. Following the potent pop track is “Risk It All,” which features a laid back hip-hop/island beat with summery guitars and lyrics that describe wind in her hair and freedom. “Waves” is a moving and empowering song, where Fenyx’s forceful vocals shout, “And just ride the waves…” Her clear and resonant vibrato pierces through the soul and encourages one to move through challenges by going with the flow, until you are able to uncover the lessons and the silver linings to life’s trials and tribulations. “Look Out Below” is a hopeful pop anthem with hints of R&B, in the vein of inspirations like Katy Perry and Sia.

The collection of seven songs can turn any bad day into a good one, as Fenyx reminds listeners of what’s important: your relationship with yourself and those with the ones closest to you. When you have a beautiful connection with yourself, the love grows outwards. For instance, “I’ll Be There For You” is an upbeat dance track, only adding to the empowering nature of Feel My Fire, while “Keep Running” takes a look at how far Fenyx has come since being born into a musical family and signed as a child into a music group (“Calvillo Sisters”) with her two sisters, a journey that began at the age of only 12. Fenyx’s artistry has been through many iterations. The project ends with “Sound of Light,” an emotional ballad about being there for someone else, who is also always there for you.

After recalibrating post-Calvillo Sisters, Fenyx set off on a solo career, releasing 13 singles, an EP titled Momentum under the sync/licensing company ACME, and an independent album The Last Tear, while also finding the sync world quite welcoming.

Having songs placed on different TV shows including Love is Blind and Sex Lives of College Girls, proved her a versatile artist with a contemporary, yet timeless sound. Fenyx has been collaborating with Arkival for the past two years, and together, they have crafted a collection of songs that are both inspiring and sonically captivating.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Sia, Cautious Clay, and Fleetwood Mac, “Feel My Fire” showcases Fenyx’s pop sensibilities while also highlighting her range as a vocalist and writer. Each track on the EP tells a story, creating a listening experience that is as emotional as it is enjoyable.
