After a near death experience in 2013, lead singer and songwriter Allan Hyslop realised he needed to treasure every moment of his life by doing what he loved most, writing and performing music.
Allan explains “Kosoti is the result of a few musicians and friends getting together to write songs and enjoy each other’s company. It started about eight months ago when a change in personnel gave us the impetus to try something different from what we’d previously been doing. The sound emerged and we knew there was something special being born…
Our new single ‘Bark and Sticks’ is about our home city of Newcastle, how it inspires me and how, through thick and thin, it has always been the backdrop to my story – and will hopefully will continue to be for a long time to come!”
The track was produced by the hugely talented Adrian Hall who has previously worked with The Clash, Depech Mode, Alicia Keys, Robbie Williams and Anna Calvi.
‘Bark and Sticks’ boasts the beautiful vocal harmonies that are quickly becoming Kosoti’s trademark, with an infectious up-tempo melody that will no doubt draw comparisons to The Magic Numbers and Damien Rice.
Having already performed sessions for BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio and Metro Radio in their short career, ‘Bark and Sticks’ is eagerly awaited by fans and media outlets alike.
