Harry Cloud has premiered his new album titled ‘Sexy Tooth Situation’, dropping tomorrow (October 2nd) via whitewOrm records.

Dissonance as an artform and dark delicacy as a guide, Harry Cloud takes those deep subconsciousness places of your mind and gives them a luscious soundscape to play and ponder in.

‘Sexy Tooth Situation’ is an album, or collection of tracks, that organically evolve as you listen in order. Almost a concept, in the ethereal sense, each track explores different aspects of the psyche and id, in my opinion. An orchestra of the obscure. Gloriously conducted by Harry and all of his originality.

“Not a lot is premeditated for my songs/albums. I’m not going for one style. Though there seems to be a penchant for the slow and heavy. I do like bands like old Melvins, Harvey Milk (the greatest), Weedeater, Earth.
I want to make music that is out of reality and not direct.
I haven’t played guitar at home in a long time. Maybe I’m just lazy or don’t care. Or it’s just so easy to come up with stuff at Paul’s (Roessler) not being prepared. We are impatient and like to work fast. I’m less concerned with perfection as I used to be. We start with the music and then I write the words very quickly. There’s little direct meaning in the lyrics, I think that makes it interesting and open ended. This is just another chapter. Every record is different. “

About ‘Sexy Tooth Situation’

Harry Cloud explores the depth of spontaneity in his newest record, “Sexy Tooth Situation.” The collection of tracks showcases another leap forward in Cloud’s ongoing evolution as an artist as he invites listeners to venture into his unpredictable sonic world. The creation of “Sexy Tooth Situation” marks a departure from traditional songwriting methods, reflecting Harry Cloud’s ever-evolving process. “About half the songs on this record were written at home, and the other half were made up in the studio,” Harry explains. “The process is becoming more and more just coming into the studio with nothing and making something up. I never play guitar at home anymore.”

One of the standout tracks, “Journey to the Center of the Spirit,” encapsulates this shift in approach. “For this one, I played five separate drum parts and put them together. Then I added bass, then guitar, and finally had Paul Roessler, who records and plays on parts of all my records, lay down some keys,” Harry describes. This method was a departure from the duo’s usual process, which typically begins with guitar. “We like finding new ways to experiment. That’s usually how it works. I come in, Paul and I hang out, dick around, and sculpt something.”

The result is an album that feels both raw and refined, balancing spontaneity with careful curation. Harry is quick to note that “Sexy Tooth Situation” diverges from his previous work, “The Cyst” in several ways. “Compared to The Cyst, I would say this has fewer catchy, pop-type songs – not by choice; they just didn’t come out. I think those songs are less present on this record because I’m writing less at home, so there is less of a typical song structure.”

Ultimately, “Sexy Tooth Situation” captures Harry Cloud at his most unfiltered and daring. It’s a record born from improvisation, shaped by collaboration, and defined by the willingness to let the music lead the way. ‘Sexy Tooth Situation’ is coming out this October 2 via Whiteworm Records.

Hailing from Midland, Georgia on the border of Alabama, Harry Cloud’s first foray into music began in the MySpace years when he befriended a group of likeminded artists and moved upstate to Atlanta to join the experimental/noise scene under the name A Butterfly-Eaten Horsehead and later Single Mothers. Migrating out West to Los Angeles afforded a meeting with Roessler who helped him hone his sound with tighter production at Kitten Robot studios where he’s recorded 16 albums and EPs so far under Harry Cloud, Fannyland, Orphan Goggles, COPS and Harry Cloud/Paul Roessler.
