Sohodolls have today premiered their new single titled ‘My Religion’ via Filthy Pretty / A&G Records. Sohodolls have long ago solidified their place in every music scene they get lumped into. From London to the world, their reemergence into the music is well deserved and was longed for.

‘My Religion’ takes the next step. Staying signature while advancing that little bit to hit the feels once again, the track veers and swerves between mainstream pop and indie glory. Synth as a surrogate for all that means and is meaningful in what a song is. Sometimes sweet, sometimes snarky, ‘My Religion’ takes a headshot to the temple the masses worship at with the mainstream assembly line music we’re force fed via TV and social media. Indulgence for the introvert.

About ‘My Religion’

Sohodolls are back with a bang for 2025 with their infectious new banger ‘My Religion’. The track is about a journey through obsession. It’s an indulgent pop song unashamedly inspired by brazen noughties pop like Eminem, Britney Spears and even Ginuwine. However, anything ‘pop’ going through the Sohodolls mincer machine will always come out darker with unhinged synths, especially when it’s produced by Grammy-nominated Dimitri Tikovoi (Charli XCX, Black Honey, Becky Hill) who also produced Sohodolls’ third biggest track ‘Mayday’.

On the high-energy track, Sohodolls’ Maya von Doll says, “I had been intrigued by the almost comedic arrogance of some 90s & noughties pop and RnB songs. I thought it might be fun to try to sing like I was a player. So ‘My Religion’ is as bold as I can get, and it was super fun trying it. I made sure I kept my British accent in the rap section though it was hard as I had always sung along to American rap.”

‘My Religion’ continues an exciting new era for Sohodolls, juxtaposing catchy pop tendencies with the band’s trademark seductive electronic darkness, as they limber up to launch their long-awaited new album this year. The potent track is a brand-new alt-pop anthem for 2025 that invites listeners to convert to the Sohodolls cult; a movement that celebrates the misfits and those who don’t conform to societal norms. The power of this loyal fanbase so far has helped the band recently climb up the viral Billboard charts after Madonna’s daughter kickstarted interest in the band by dancing to one of their 00’s releases on TikTok.

With ‘My Religion’, we again see Sohodolls combining top quality production, stunning songwriting and an effortlessly cool delivery for maximum earworm power. It’s the type of work, dripping in graphic melodrama, that has seen Sohodolls recently featured in Netflix’s top 10 series ‘Geek Girl’ with their song ‘Bad’, plus a slew of new press and radio love from the likes of BBC Radio 1’s Nels Hylton, Absolute Radio’s Frank Skinner and Atwood Magazine to name a few.
