Swervedriver have today released their new single titled ‘Butterfly’ from their upcoming album ‘Doremi Faso Latido’ dropping on August 30 via Outer Battery Records on exclusive vinyl.
Long having been legends of a few different genres and hiving melded and molded them into pure originality, ‘Butterfly’ continues that trend of worldly freshness with a piece of sonic art that is as chaotic as it is beautiful. Almost a lucid dream as much of a song, ‘Butterfly’ shows that the word classic can be used in future tense as much as the past. A dreamscape more than a dream pop, Swervedriver show that a song is as much about feeling as it is about mainstream.

About Swervedriver
Following last year’s reissue of the band’s legendary and nearly lost LP, 99th Dream, Outer Battery Records received countless requests to release a vinyl version of Doremi Faso Latido, previously only available as part of the 3CD package. Featuring outtakes and studio demos, the hour-long entry into the annals of Swervedriver history is a must-have for record collectors and will be officially released on 30th August 2024. As well as containing all eleven tracks featured on the deluxe CD version, there will also be an additional four tracks (included digitally) of rare cuts, alternate takes, and live versions when you purchase the record. (see track listing below).
To gild the Lilly even further, news has also reached us that Swervedriver have one eye on the future too, having recently completed recording of new material for an EP, also to be released on Outer Battery Records in this Autumn. Recorded by TJ Doherty, Ride’s Mark Gardener and Rick Beato along with the band, the EP will also feature additional contributions from Will Foster, Calina de la Mare and Sarah Willson.
“We haven’t really done an EP since our days with Creation,” explains guitarist/vocalist, Adam Franklin. “I have no idea why it was the done thing back then, but it was a cool way to present your music with no sort of commitment to direction. You could just go off on one on any song if you wanted, and that’s what we wanted to do again here. I’ve always consumed music via singles anyway and was always partial to a good B-side or three.”
