  1. In The Cut The Bluetones 04:22

The Bluetones are set to drop their new single titled ‘In The Cut’ on February 7th, ahead of their upcoming EP of the same name on March 28th.

An exquisite blend of jam band and songwriter’s grit, The Bluetones build a lucid fever dream of originality and a showmanship that proves that time doesn’t change, but in some ways, improves. This is a band that has found it’s sound long ago. Now it’s at that next evolution of revolution in the story that is The Bluetones.

‘In The Cut’ is a song that is part reintroduction, part reacquaintance, and every bit of everything that The Bluetones stands for, musically and originally. This is the next chapter.

About The Bluetones & ‘In The Cut’

The Bluetones, the legendary British indie rock band hailing from West London, have announced the release of a new EP, In The Cut. The three track release features a lead single of the same name, which is available to download from 7th February. A bold declaration of resilience and determination, the song represents a triumphant return to form for the band and the second in a trilogy of releases set for 2025. The year is set to be a busy one for the band as they have also announced a small series of live dates kicking off on 26th March and an album is slated for the Autumn.

The three track EP is testament to the intuitive creative process that comes with decades of collaboration.

“Getting into the studio together again has reawakened us all to what we can do together. We have an instinctive understanding and connection and we’re not held back by any sense of having to explain ourselves.” This chemistry, honed through years of playing together, shines brightly on the eclectic lead track, In the Cut. With genre-jumping inspiration, razor sharp arrangements and a Funkadelic outro, the track showcases the band’s renewed sense of energy whilst managing to still completely encapsulate The Bluetones’ unmistakable sound.

“‘In the Cut is all about rolling with life’s ups and downs,” says frontman Mark Morriss. “The message is really that sometimes you just need to put your big boy pants on and get on with it. And that actually those challenging times can make you stronger so you’ve almost got to relish some part of the process.”

The Bluetones return features the full original lineup with Mark Morriss on vocals, Adam Devlin on guitar, Scott Morriss on bass and Eds Chesters on drums.

In the Cut follows the success of the band’s earlier release, Drive Thru which reached number two in the physical sales chart.

The new EP is a tantalizing preview of the forthcoming album, slated for release this autumn. With its eclectic influences and timeless energy, In the Cut reinforces The Bluetones’ place as one of the UK’s most enduring, distinctive and innovative bands.
