Vanarin has today released their new single titled ‘What We Said’ from their upcoming album third album dropping soon via Dischi Sotterranei.
Expirimental psych rock with panache, style, and quirkiness, ‘What We Said’ feels like something totally new and fresh amongst a sea of bland and blasé. There is a lot going on here, sonically. This is a song most people could not right, unless you get it. By get it I mean know what kind of music you want to release and record it on your own terms. This is Vanarin. Fuck the norm and embrace the storm, so to say.
And, while there is a lot of noise within the track, it is well placed and purposeful. Everything belongs. Yet, on top of all of that, there is a monstrous hook. This is where music should be headed.

About ‘What We Said’
The release of Vanarin’s third album for Dischi Sotterranei is rapidly approaching, and in the meantime, the British-Italian band has gained recognition by featuring on the prestigious BBC channels, which highlighted them as one of the top music acts of the moment.
A highly mesmerizing psych ballad where, dominating over all instruments, is a piano progression on which lays the frontman’s vocals, creating an undulating beat that leaves one almost stunned and inebriated, lulled by the hypnotic voice as it reflects like a mantra on what might have happened between two lovers whose paths were however destined to part, obsessively wondering why the partner said those very words. With its melancholic, circular lyrics, the song is reminiscent of Tame Impala’s famous Currents, but the manipulated and pitched vocal parts will also be appreciated by fans of the Beatles’ more experimental phase.
If all this were not enough, the composition is embellished by a warm bass line and engaging guitar interventions, whose phrasing seems to come straight out of the 60’s. The group’s attention to details is disarming, managing to envelop the listener with always unexpected and innovative sound solutions that distinguish and make their stylistic signature unique.
