Jammerzine has an exclusive interview with the multi-talent known as Julian Shah-Tayler, a.k.a. The Singularity, as well as a sneak peek of his new album titled ‘Elysium’, dropping this Friday.

Aside from being known as a singer, songwriter, and producer, Julian is also an accomplished multi-instrumentalist that has done that rare thing in the music world: he has found his sound. What’s more, he is also one of those that pays tribute to his roots and influences in the best manner possible. Having graced multiple stages with his David Bowie tribute band The Band That Fell To Earth, his Depeche Mode tribute band Strangelove and moonlighting as singer-keyboardist in The Cure tribute band The Cured.

And now we get that intimate look at the mind behind the music. a ‘Toto pulling the curtain’ moment. A conversation more than an interview.

What you will hear in this interview is somewhat of a guide into the mentality and creativity of an artist that, in my opinion, will always be on the rise. Why do I say that? Because Julian gets it. He doesn’t do anything for anything but his art. This isn’t a business to him. This is a creative outlet. And, for that alone, his music is allowed the luxury of being what it is meant to be; a true form of expression.

And, in this interview, we talk with Julian about that expression and how that has led to what is ‘Elysium’ as well as what the future holds. Enjoy!

About ‘Elysium’

The new album, the third under his own name, entitled “Elysium” is “the story of the love of my life from the very moment we met, and the subsequent and very relatable emotional rollercoaster that comes with the territory of being in love and overcoming vast distances, both literal and metaphorical”.

The record opens with “End Of The Line” which narrates the dissolution of old pain, paving the way for new beginnings.

It then takes the listener on a voyage through the building back of hope through the different moods and stages of love and resolves with the triumphant universalism of “Darkling U”

Focus tracks are “End Of The Line”, “Secret”, “Evolution” and with special guest David J (Bauhaus) on “The Devil Knows”
