“Constellation” features twelve original songs co-written by Mann. “Each song is a special piece of me written over the past 10 years,” Mann says. “To me, they are all shining stars–my constellation.”
Mann’s notable co-writers include JUSTIN TRANTER, dubbed “the hottest songwriter in pop music” by the New York Times for his string of chart-topping smashes (“Sorry” by Justin Bieber, “Good For You” by Selena Gomez). Together, Mann, Tranter and Felix Snow wrote the lead single, “Echo”–an epic, energetic anthem declaring that “in the end we are mirrors searching for a reflection…you are my voice, I am your echo.”
“Comeback,” the feel-good track of the album, has quickly garnered buzz on social media and tells the story of underdog determination and perseverance straight from the pages of Mann’s life. “I’ve had so many ups and downs in the music business–doubters, naysayers, in and out of labels. But this album and this song are my way of fighting on and taking life, and my music, by the horns.” Co-written with AMY FOSTER (“Just Haven’t Met You Yet” by Michael Buble) and WHO IS FANCY? (“Boys Like You feat. MEGHAN TRAINOR & ARIANA GRANDE”), this infectious torch song will have listeners singing with the choir, “don’t you know what a comeback looks like?!”
Additional hit-making collaborators include LIZ ROSE (co-writer of the 2016 Grammy-winning song “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town) and DAVID HODGES (“A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri).
The production on “Constellation” is an edgier, yet fitting sound for Mann–a hybrid of symphonic and electronic described as “Josh Groban meets Muse” creating a musical foundation for Mann’s power-house vocals to soar. Grammy-nominated producer, ADRIAN BRADFORD, served as Executive Producer with additional tracks produced by WILLY BEAMAN (Nico and Vinz, David Guetta). Fans will also delight in a new arrangement of the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic “The Music of the Night” from “The Phantom of the Opera” produced by Grammy-winning producer, WALTER AFANASIEFF (Josh Groban, Celine Dion). The result confirms the Huffington Post’s declaration that Mann is “a bona fide breakout star!”
Mann reached out to fans to to help fund “Constellation’s” production through the music crowdsourcing site PledgeMusic and raised nearly twice the amount of money requested in record time. On PledgeMusic Mann noted, “I’m so thankful for the support of both my fans and PledgeMusic to help make ‘Constellation’ a reality.”
Mann’s debut album, Roads, hit #1 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Chart and he starred in 2 of his own PBS television specials. Chris has performed with the National Symphony for President Obama, “Christmas in Rockefeller Center,” and headlined his own symphony tour across the country. He has also performed on “Ellen,” “The Today Show,” “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and was an original “Warbler” on the hit TV show, “Glee.”
Chris Mann continues to star in Cameron Mackintosh’s Spectacular New Production of “The Phantom of the Opera” through October 2016 with additional concert engagements supporting “Constellation” booking through 2017. Mann is from Wichita, KS.
