Dead Chic has released their new video for the track titled ‘Paris’. Taken from their upcoming album dropping later this year, the Spaghetti Western genre takes a dark turn to the noir with a visual lush with subtones and a feeling that matches the music of the mood.

The song is a deep dive into the originality of the band that is Dead Chic. An afterthought to a lucid dream that hints of nightmare. Gravel voice bravado amidst genre defining and original music become entangled in a web most musicians of the indie scene fear to tread. That eerie section of the genre that demands that you be yourself and create the trail your posse rides on.

About ‘Paris’

Dive into the Morricone-esque universe with this brand-new track from Dead Chic. “Paris,” the lead single from their upcoming album, is an epic romp through a vast, barren, wild landscape. It starts with an exciting rumble, a distant guitar, a simmering vocal… then the gunshot fires! The horde bursts forth, with fuzz and choirs escalating to a climax. “Paris” is the anthem of an adventure on the great trails, no matter the vehicle.

To visually represent this western-style soundtrack, the band enlisted director Anastasja Black along with producer Rowan Biddiscombe, known for the band’s previous music videos. Filmed in the Tabernas Desert in southern Spain, the music video captures the iconic settings of Spaghetti Western cinema. In a spiritual quest, the characters seek their paths, confronting their own limits and those of their environment until they come together for the final climax.

About Dead Chic

Dead Chic originally formed from the partnership between Andy Balcon and Damien Félix. They met a few years ago while touring with their respective bands (Heymooshaker and Catfish), frequently crossing paths on the road and catching up backstage to discuss music, idols, and the possibility of collaborating. After a few years without crossing paths, they reconnected in the fall of 2020. Before discussing musical influences, Andy and Damien shared visual references, illustrations, and landscapes that would form the foundation and direction of their work. The idea of working together then took a serious turn, and after some exchanges, “Too Far Gone,” their first track, was released in 2022.

They were then joined by Rémi Ferbus on drums (known for his work with Kimberose, Mélissa Laveaux, among others), who had previously collaborated with Andy; and Mathis Akengin on keyboards, a long-time collaborator of Damien in Catfish. Over the years, through tours and travels, the musicians have honed their skills, enriched their cultural knowledge, and defined their individual styles. The combination of the four immediately sparked.
