Following their critically acclaimed album Kallisti, supported by both Metal Hammer and Prog Magazine, EYE are a band fast on the up, one of the Middle East’s premiere prog/post-rock exports. Combining cinematic soundscapes reminiscent of Tool, Porcupine Tree, Mogwai and Anathema and traversing the landscapes of prog, post, industrial and alternative rock, EYE are a band begging to be heard live.
One of music’s most celebrated aspects is its ability to transcend boundaries, to move beyond the everyday and into the extraordinary. Nowhere is this more apparent than with multinational progressive outfit Empty Yard Experiment (EYE).
Although formed and based in Dubai, EYE. are a group with members from Serbia, Iran, and India. Just as their background cultures are diverse, so is the range of music on display. Citing such influences as Tool, Porcupine Tree, Nine Inch Nails, and Mogwai, Kallisti is a cinematic hour-long journey, ranging from subtle disquieting aggression to truly uplifting melody. Named after the inscription on the ancient Greek Apple of Discord, Kallisti is a conceptual album focusing on the threads of chaos and discord which permeate our entire existence.
