Healthy Junkies has today released their new video for the single ‘These Boots Are Made For Walking’. A light year away, stylistically, from the Nancy Sinatra original that it may as well be a new song. And, in this case, it is. It’s a bold move to remake such a classic. A better move to recreate it.

And that’s what Healthy Junkies pulls off with this. It is a recreation. Hopped from one genre into another and rebuilt from the ground up with a new signature sound and attitude to boot.

Feeling more like a foot stomp or sucker punch to the gut, the heaviness kicks out all the jams and releases the adrenaline just enough to define your day.

About Healthy Junkies

Healthy Junkies are Nina Courson (vocals), Phil Honey-Jones (guitars/vocals), Dave Whitmore (bass) and Tony Alda (drums).

Phil says, “Nina heard the Nancy Sinatra version of, “These Boots Were Made for Walking” in a movie called Now and Then, when she 13 years old. The song emblazoned itself into her psyche. When we first introduced the song into the Healthy Junkies live set, it almost broke up the band at the time. This was the original Healthy Junkies lineup in 2014. But, Nina persevered and kept the song in the live show until finally recording it in 2018, with myself on guitars and backing vocals, Dave Whitmore on bass and Tony Alda on drums.”

“These Boots Were Made for Walking” was recorded and produced by Brian O’Shaughnessy (My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream) and Healthy Junkies at Bark Studios, Walthamstow, London.

The video was filmed and edited by Bill Watson on location in Los Angeles, CA., and surrounding areas.
