Jacob Giaimo is not your average singer-songwriter. Originally from Orlando, FL., but currently living in Los Angeles, CA., not only writes from the heart, but has the ability to find beauty in heartache. His new single, “The Things I Loved”, off of his forthcoming album, Arts District, does just that.

Jacob says, “I was coming out of a breakup when I wrote, “The Things I Loved”, and I went into writing the song with the idea that I didn’t want to write something angry or spiteful, but something that described my fondness for that period of time in my life.”

While the writing process for each song can vary, Jacob wrote, “The Things I Loved”, quickly. He had the idea to write a list of things about the relationship that he loved, and then used each item on the list for inspiration for the verses.

Jacob says he hopes that listeners of the new single take away a few key things. “I hope they take away that breakups don’t have to be petty or spiteful. I’m not saying don’t feel anger or sadness because those are natural feelings and healthy feelings in ways, but it’s also okay to understand that not everything works out the way you initially plan them to.” He continues, “It’s a sweet song and I think people who have experienced a breakup will relate to it.”

Playing live for Jacob is a passion and his favorite thing to do. He feels like it was something he was born to do and has so much fun with it.

You can catch Jacob playing live as much as possible and also releasing his forthcoming album, Arts District, before the end of 2024.
