Through her music, Liv Hanna showcases her expansive vocal range, and uniquely talented songwriting prowess. The 19-year-old singer and songwriter from New York City carries a tool kit laden with beautiful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, seamlessly blended with Pop, Soul, and Hip Hop sensibilities.
“I use my music to convey experiences that will make my audience feel something real,” says Hanna. “I connect music to everything that I go through, and I know from first-hand experience how much a song can influence a mood and help someone. I think that’s why I’ve always been so drawn to music, because no matter what is happening, I always feel something when I listen to or compose a song.” Studying piano since the age of 8, Liv performed in several choirs, the most elite of which being the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York. In late 2019, Hanna caught the attention of Grammy winning producer and manager, Guy Eckstine. Eckstine states, “I was very impressed with Liv’s voice and her ability to conjure up melodies and lyrics in an instant.”
In 2020, with the onset of the Covid- 19 pandemic and sequestered at home during her senior year of high school, Liv found herself isolated from her classmates. Hanna states, “In some ways the pandemic offered me the time to reflect and dive deeper into myself and discover what I ultimately wanted to say as a songwriter. Fortunately I was able to compose music during the pandemic, express myself, and continue to move forward and grow.”Calling upon Eckstine and session guitar master, Paul Pesco (Madonna, Jennifer Lopez), to produce her debut recordings, Hanna offers up a more balanced contemporary pop sound including her patented keen observational lyricism and new-found fondness for multi-layered vocal arrangements. “I really love Pop, Soul, and Hip Hop music and incorporating those genres is very natural for me as a songwriter and artist.”
After graduating high school in 2021 Hanna enrolled at the University of Miami, Frost School of Music on a full scholarship spending time between NYC and Miami soaking up all of the local flavors. “Between recording in the studio in NYC and attending the University of Miami I feel I am growing as an artist every day. There is so much to learn and incorporate into my music. It is all so exciting!
