Monteceneri is a band from Milan that formed in 2019. Their musical formula comes from a fusion of post-rock settings and electronic sounds. A mix in which they pour all the most related influences with the aim of not locking themselves in a comfort zone. After the 2021 release of the singles “Evo,” “Heimweh,” and “Plan O,” the group is back in 2025 with the EP Due, recorded and mixed by Ruggero Catania and mastered by Mauro Andreolli at das Ende der Dinge studio. Due will be released on January 24, 2025 by the Lady Lovely Label.

The band composed “Call of the Void” in the immediate aftermath of the 2020 lockdown, when all reference to what their lives and daily lives had been seemed (or perhaps were) permanently changed to be sucked into an elusive dystopian vortex. When they presented the track to Marec, their lifelong music video director, they gave him carte blanche just asking him to be inspired by the sounds giving free rein to his imagination.

“This is not the first time I have collaborated with the Monteceneri.” comments Marec. “Their songs, characterized by long and deep tempos, offer me the opportunity to explore and create small short films that turn into real musical journeys. With “Call of the Void”, we took the time to pay homage to the immense breath of their music, inspired by a scene from the book Oceano mare by Alessandro Baricco. In that story, there was a man painting the sea using the sea itself; here, however, we imagined a young boy drawing the lake with the lake.”
