- Supernatural Unknown Territories 03:56
Unknown Territories is set to drop their new single from their upcoming debut album titled ‘Supernatural’ on May 24th. Ahead of that, however, we have the privilege of checking it out right here and right now.
Starting off calm like a bomb, ‘Supernatural’ makes a signature hook that surrounds and encompasses Esther Maylor’s vocal style with the smoothness of a set of musicians in touch with their inner coolness and that suave entitlement that says ‘yeah, this is what music is’.
As you listen you can’t help but wonder what will come next from this group of artists and what that signature sound they are previewing here now will bring.
About Unknown Territories
Manchester’s Unknown Territories return with the second single to be taken from their forthcoming debut album. ‘Supernatural’ is much more laid back than the upbeat debut single ‘Broken’.
Esther Maylor takes lead vocal duties again (and also appears on the cover artwork) and nails it with a sultry performance, intertwined with broken beats, atmospheric keys and a lead guitar throughout.
The group played a one off show (so far, at least) last December at The Eagle in Salford, in aid of Ovarian Cancer Charity ‘Target’ and ended with a blistering performance of ‘Supernatural’ which went down a treat, so it was a no brainer for the next release.
Unknown Territories is a Mancunian supergroup of sorts, what started out as an idea between Rikki Turner (Paris Angels) and Martin McLaren grew into a project with Seán Crossey, Esther Maylor (Heavy Salad), Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), Lewis Jones and Callum Croston.
