We are pleased to introduce Nigerian Afropop rising star Olakira as he makes his international debut with his brand new singles ‘Hey Lover’ and ‘Flirty Signal’, which are already causing quite the stir across Africa, with strong support from Cool FM, The Beat Lagos, Wazobia FM, Trace Naija, Rhythm FM, Soundcity, Not Just OK, Bella Naija, The Native Magazine, Pulse NG, and The Net NG among others.
Signed to U&I Music, who helped launch the career of new Afrobeats star Dotman, Olakira – real name Ade Ebenezer – is an extremely talented producer, composer, singer, songwriter and musician, and an exciting prospect for African music in 2018. The multi-faceted artist and musician has already contributed to and produced some of the scenes biggest hits including Dotman’s ‘Akube’ and ‘My Woman’.
For ‘Hey Lover’, he has joined forces with producer and engineer Simba Tagz, who has previously worked with Burna Boy, Wande Coal and Maleek Berry, to deliver a smooth summer tune giving assurance to all the insecure lovers out there, while the self-produced ‘Flirty Signal’ is an infectious club-ready Afrobashment jam, which sees Olakira in carnival mode as he looks for the right signal from his leading lady.
With ‘Hey Lover’ and ‘Flirty Signal’ continuing to leave their mark across Africa, and the diaspora in the UK and Europe starting to cotton on, Olakira is fast becoming one to watch. He kicks off an African radio tour this August, while the music videos for ‘Hey Lover’ and ‘Flirty Signal’ are already in the works and set to be released at the end of summer, continuing Olakira’s winning streak so far this year.
