Charm of Finches has today released their new album titled ‘Marlinchen In The Snow’. Atmospheric folk-pop with that originality and creativity only found in the best indie artists, Charm of Finches have created a set of vivid soundscapes that sparks the imagination of anyone who listens.
Human emotions and feelings of the heart all have their lucid places in this set of musically diverse signature tracks. Above all of that, though, are the brilliant harmonies and vocal inflections of the pair that make up Charm of Finches.
While this is a duo that have clearly already made their mark on the independent and mainstream music scenes, ‘Marlinchen In The Snow’ is a clear indication and declaration that much, much more is to come.

Australian sister duo Charm of Finches delivers intricate folk-pop that is simultaneously graceful and darkly bewitching. Their seamless blood harmonies traverse melancholy and wonder in equal measure.
The sisters, Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes, released their third full length album Wonderful Oblivion in 2021 through New York-based label AntiFragile Music to critical acclaim. They have since toured extensively through the UK, Europe and Canada in 2022/23.
Winners of the Australian Folk Music Awards Best Folk Album (2022) and Music Victoria Best Contemporary Folk Act (2021), their music has been nominated twice for the prestigious Australian Music Prize.
In February 2023 the sisters spent a month in rural Nova Scotia recording with acclaimed Canadian producer Daniel Ledwell (Jenn Grant, Oh Pep!), inspired by the frozen beauty of the landscape and their transient life on the road with their music. The result is their fourth studio album Marlinchen In The Snow which further takes influence from the Grimm’s fairy tale ‘The Juniper Tree’. Mabel confides, “It’s a haunting tale of how Marlinchen discovers the death of her stepbrother at the hands of her mother. This found its way into one of our songs. There’s lots of symbolism in the story but really, it’s about female strength and intuition – overcoming obstacles led by your inner voice – a theme throughout the album.”
