Chasing Kites has today released their new single titled ‘Two Towns’. Revved up from the start with that certain panache and swagger put to music, ‘Two Towns’ is a wall of sound and an orchestra of originality thrown into the mix of the masses and stands out from the norm and pierces straight to the crowd.
An announcement of arrival as much as it is a song, I hear that anthem in the hook and a confidence that only bands that last the decade possess.
About Chasing Kites
Starting life in 2016 as the solo project of vocalist Matt Donnelly, Chasing Kites arrived at their full and final lineup in June of 2022, thanks to a series of ‘Band Members Wanted’ advertisements and the miracles of social media. The band have since gone on to be chosen as BBC Bristol’s ‘Big New Sound’ with the release of their recent single ‘Slide’ and have been championed by the likes of Ones To Watch.
With echoes of Catfish and the Bottlemen, The Verve and The 1975, the band intertwine dynamic hooks, 80s synth textures and vivid narratives, capturing reflections on the stories of Donnelly’s youth.
Their new single Two Towns, recorded with Sam Winfield (Amber Run, Bring Me The Horizon) at Studio 91, lyrically explores the end of a relationship brought about due to being separated by distance and the aftermath of an unwanted breakup.
