1. The Circle Four Faces 03:14

Four Faces has just premiered their new single titled ‘The Circle’ releasing tomorrow. What a way to bring in this Thanksgiving Day, than with a solemn track that echoes those sentiments and more on a global level.

Beautiful sentiments abound around a bare a feeling of belonging with people who truly love you. As the song builds to a crescendo, that feeling intensifies and the meaning becomes clear: none of us are alone in this world. Find someone. Feel that feeling you deserve to feel all year round. That feeling of love.

About Four Faces

Breakout Irish act Four Faces release their final single of the year in new uplifting indie folk rock anthem ‘The Circle’. The song echoes strong sentiments of friendship and comradery and is accompanied by a musical arrangement that delicately builds in energy and intent throughout. ‘The Circle’ is the final instalment of musical releases in a year which saw Four Faces release two well received singles in ‘Old Scars’ and ‘Better Option’ as well as performing to sold out crowds in The Workman’s Club. The release of ‘The Circle’ is surely set to help build momentum for the band who are now preparing to support Damien Dempsey on 15th December in Mandela Hall, Belfast and 22nd December in Vicar Street, Dublin as well as set them up for what is shaping up to be a busy 2024.

On the song, Dan Ffrench writes “We had been going through a patch of life changing events around the time this track came to the surface. We lost loved ones, relationships ended and there were a number of moments when we all felt isolated in the rehearsal room, picking up the pieces.

We found solace in words of reassurance and continued to crack on and make music out of distraction to escape very real world problems. Looking back now, an unbreakable bond was formed in that space that became much more than four college friends looking to pursue the dream of making music for a living.

The Circle was written from the instinctual nature of survival. When one of our tribe was wounded, it was to us to come around that person and carry each one through. The fire representing the pain of our own experiences, the circle symbolizing the brotherhood formed around each other, arm in arm, staring directly into that pain. We were all that we had and we never thought that this song was going to see light after recording. We now have instrumental people in our corner telling us that it’s the right time for people to hear it.

It was a song that was written in the space of two days. We wrote the verses and choruses in one session, and I went back and quickly penned the words directly after that rehearsal and sent them to Diarmuid, Tommy & Eoin. We hope that The Circle helps listeners during a difficult patch, with your own circle forming around your fire the way it did for us.”

The Circle was produced by Four Faces, recorded by Thomas McGovern at Black Mountain Studios and mixed/mastered by Aidan Cunningham.
