ShareTweet Ida-Kudo’s Danish-Japanese background offers equal parts of Eastern mystique and cool Scandinavian precision. Her new single ‘Wolf’ combines the two worlds in the most beautiful way. With her clever lyrical narrative, her playful yet fragile, bright vocal and clear-cut production, she draws the listener into the depths of the woods. Prepare to be transported by her mystical allure. The tribal-inspired electronic beats and the Eastern undertones are a breath of fresh air on the music scene with comparisons naturally falling on artists such as M.I.A, Santigold, Lorde, and Björk. In her track ‘Wolf’, Ida shows that she has become far clearer in her expression than on her previous releases, including the highly-praised self-titled debut EP from 2015 and later singles; Killer (2016) and JINX (2017). Following such releases, she has consistently received great recognition on the Copenhagen electronic scene, with support from Noisey and Soundvenue Magazine among others, but it is now that she wishes to hopefully extend her praises to the UK music scene. Ida has previously performed live at UHØRT! Festival, Cph Distortion, the Copenhagen Pride Festival at the city hall square in 2017, Understrøm (Aarhus Festival), New Note Festival, and twice at the Spot Festival, as well as being a support act for artists such as Raske Penge (DK) and CHINAH (DK). At the age of 4, Ida started playing the violin and has now finished her education from the Rhythmic Music Conservatory as a singer. Recently she appeared on Kongsted’s single “Get Away” which she also performed with at the Zulu Awards (2018). Ida has made a long run for the refinement of her music and with the single ‘Wolf’, she is in every way ready to take the next big step. Comments
