Introducing to you a glorious new sound within a fresh sounding 6 piece band- ‘Biscay’.

This innovative catalogue of songs can only be described as shamelessly retrospective, fusing jazz, funk and soul grooves. This contrasts with the songs contemporary subjects, which wryly bemoan the state of the modern world.

Biscay thrive on this contrast – much like the part of the Atlantic from which they take their name, their music combines smooth sounds with the turbulence of 21st century urban life.

Their debut, 6-track EP ‘Burnt Mementos’, is due for release on Friday March 24th, and explores a range of topics from the flawed worship of good looks, the pointless pursuit of status, bad dates and worse relationships…something which many people can relate to within the 21st century!

Led by French singer Elea May (now a London resident) her alternative sound provides something you can’t quite put your finger on…and it’s great! With skilled writing credits going to guitarist/songwriter Phil Danter, their sound verges on that of a contemporary Brand New Heavies with a twist of vintage jazz.
Catch them live for the EP launch on the 24th March at Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen.
