Domestic violence is an epidemic affecting individuals in every community, regardless of age, economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality. It is often accompanied by emotionally abusive and controlling behavior that is only a fraction of a systematic pattern of dominance and control. Domestic violence can result in physical injury, psychological trauma, and in severe cases, even death. The devastating physical, emotional, and psychological consequences of domestic violence can cross generations and last a lifetime.
“Many people refer to music as another form of art. Well, I refer to myself as an artist, being that I’m able to successfully paint visuals through my lyrics / songs. On my most recent masterpiece, XXX, I speak on a worldwide problem that effects our households on a daily basis. Please bare with me, and most importantly, excuse my language as I express my feelings in a “violent” / verbal way. Growing up, unfortunately I experienced domestic violence in my home. It’s something that I feel should be spoken about by anybody who experienced it. Seeing women of my family be abused by males, definitely has given me a different kind of anger. Fighting fire with fire may not put the fire out, but I believe that if you are an abusive male, you deserve the same treatment, reciprocated.”
