ShareTweet Avenoir is the electronic project of Chester-based artist, Wes Thompson (also vocalist of Exeter-based metal act, Napoleon). Inspired by the ethereal and accessible R&B vibes of The Weeknd and Bryson Tiller, Wes unleashed ‘Mercury Retrograde’ to explore a whole new musical path. Of the track’s inspirations, he comments: “While writing this with my producer Lloyd Preece (Heart of Gold, Cally Rhodes), I was listening to a tonne of film soundtracks, ‘Drive’ for example; I wanted to create a similar sense of dread, urgency and anticipation within the listener.” Comments
