Back in 2009, Melis became 3rd runner up in the first season of X-Factor in Norway. This gave a jumpstart to her music career. Along the way she has worked as a drama teacher with kids and has been acting in different big screen tv commercials.
The Lotto series commercials won the highest possible award «Gullfisken» for best commercial of 2021, in which Melis has the lead role.
Melis has been a backup singer for Norway’s biggest pop queen Gabrielle. In addition to her songwriting and singing, Melis directs and edits all of her own creative artist content along with her childhood photographer friend Frøy Nielsen.
She has also starred as an actor in many animation movies such as ‘Sally’ in Cars, Smurfs: The Lost Village and last but not least: the voice of ‘Changé’, a main character in Netflix’ Over The Moon animation picture which got an Oscar nomination for best animation picture in 2020.
Influenced by the 90’s r&b/pop-scene with Mariah, Celiné and Whitney, Lise began singing and performing early. After being in the music industry and performing for the past fifteen years in different bands and occasions, Lise created her solo project “Melis” in 2019.
Melis writes and co-produces all of her songs and in March 2019 she debuted her first solo single “Paint My Nails’, a few months later “Weekend Free” was out. With only two singles out, plus a full catalogue of original songs in her pocket, she made her way into the live scene and got to play at some of Norways biggest festivals and showcases.
The last three singles from her upcoming album have been playlisted on the biggest radio stations in Norway, made the cut of several editorial Spotify playlists, and the debut album is highly anticipated.
