Tommy Down – Do You Want It All? (Live Studio Session)

โ€˜Do You Want It All?โ€™ is the first single released from Tommyโ€™s forthcoming EP, which is due for release later this year. The dreamy psych rock track also premiered with globally renowned tastemaker CLASH Magazine. Additionally, his single โ€˜Mrs Blueโ€™, off his 2024 album 21st Century Living, has amassed over 5.7 million streams on Spotify alone, earning him support from the likes of NOTION, Earmilk, Radio X, RTร‰ 2XM, NPR – including a loyal following, which cemented his reputation as a rising talent in soulful music.

Tommy Down is a Camden-based artist who has worked with acclaimed producers such as Grammy-nominated hitmakers Jon Shave and Jason Pebworth of Invisible Men, as well as Jeffrey Silverman. He has performed at events like Camden Rocks Festival, headlined by Frank Turner. Notably, Tommy has had six of his songs featured in just as many episodes across all three seasons of HBOโ€™s hit drama series Industry, co-created by his brother Mickey Down.

Tommy Downโ€™s journey began at fourteen, combining influences from jazz, rock, and soul. Tommyโ€™s musical roots run deep, with his grandfather singing for WWII troops. A former member of the Bristol-based jazz band BUJO that toured Europe, he later returned to London to produce a soul album. Tommy continues to perform across London, blending his rich UK-Ghanaian heritage with a passion for storytelling through music.

Known for his raw, heart-centred performances reminiscent of Paolo Nutini and Tame Impala, he draws inspiration from a wide array of artists, including Marvin Gaye, Mazzy Star, Radiohead, Oasis, Blur, David Bowie, and Michael Kiwanuka, to name but a few. Now taking the reins and producing his music and performing live with a backing band, his forthcoming EP promises a psychedelic rock and soul fusion inspired by Radiohead and Mitski.

The Live Studio Sessions video features Tommy alongside a live band, composed of Aaron Dolby on bass, Tom Wardle on guitar, and Jack Purbrick on the drums. In the striking 5-minute video, Tommy Down holds nothing back, as he gently tugs on the viewer’s heart strings with his poignant, no-fuss, no-frills performance. Filmed by Louid Hudd, the video kicks off with what feels like exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of a studio practice session. It then shifts to a black and white shot of Tommy and the band as they begin their performance.

Tommyโ€™s crisp, haunting vocals glide with ease and warmth over the symphony of guitar chords, bass, and drums, immersing the viewer deeper with every note. Tommy Downโ€™s passion and unfiltered authenticity radiate powerfully in the video and are showcased further with monochrome close-up shots of him interspersed throughout.

Tommy revealed: โ€œThe song draws from some Radiohead tracks like โ€˜Creepโ€™ but with a shoegazery spin to it. Mazzy Star is also an inspiration. The lyrics are about maintaining your soul and morals in your pursuit of gaining all your worldly possessions and acclaim. Managed to get a Bob Marley quote in there ‘Live for yourself and live in vain, but live for others and you will live again.โ€

Arabella and The Heist – Ruckus + Tour Dates

Arabella and The Heist have today released their new video for the track titled ‘Ruckus’. High energy for the low-hanging masses in search of true rebellion, ‘Ruckus’ turns the ‘fuckus’ into the ‘fuckyou’ with that solid introduction to your next rock icons.

A groove meant to move and hooks that cook, this is a song for those of us tired of the status quo and longing for a society that truly gets it. Part noise, part party, all inclusive, Arabella and The Heist show that the masses are within reach if you simply give them what they want: emotion and energy.

    About Arabella and The Heist

Arabella and The Heist have embodied the pumped-up and unhinged energy of the icons of rock and the seduction of punk since their 2019 debut through their high-energy songs and intense, saturated music videos.

Their latest single โ€˜Ruckusโ€™ is a storm of electric party beats mixed with harsh rock noise, overdriven guitar and amped up drums, making for a track that feels straight from a noughties house party, and its music video carries that electrifying energy through in the music video with an intoxicating party vibe, raw, real, and untamed. Off-the-cuff and nostalgic, this video feels like it could have been filmed in a buddyโ€™s flat. The band describes the videoโ€™s creation as,

โ€œWe wanted to capture a moment reminiscent of those summer nights in the noughties. Where you were young, crazy, and free. There’s nothing scripted about itโ€ฆ It’s messy, it’s fun, it’s us. Somewhere, sometime, in a backyard in the suburbs, a Ruckus is happening, whether you like it or not.โ€

Arabella and The Heist are taking this whirlwind energy on their east-coast tour: ignited by the raw energy โ€˜Ruckus’, theyโ€™re taking the defiance of punk and infectious energy of dance to venues all along the coast with a setlist of new and old songs thatโ€™s fast, loud, straight to the point, and sure to establish Arabella and The Heist as one of Australiaโ€™s newest electrifying acts.

With sold-out crowds for the single launches of ‘Electric’ and ‘1769’ and features in festival line-ups like St Kilda Fest 2025, Brunswick Music Fest 2025, Chopped 2024, and Mordifest 2024, this tour will be the latest place where a crowd can shake off their chains and get berserk.

Tobias Bergson – Everything I Do

    Tobias Bergson
    Tobias Bergson

Boasting over a whopping 180 million streams across platforms and praise from DJ luminaries such as Don Diablo, Lost Frequencies, and Steve Aoki. He has previously released via major labels Armada and Universal Music Austria, performed at venues and festivals like the Spring Festival in Austria, and had his music featured in a number of Spotify Editorial playlists.

Tobias has garnered support from numerous publications, including DJ Mag, 1001 Tracklists, Mixmag Germany and Netherlands, YourEDM, House Music With Love, and many others, as well as landing spins on radio stations such as CBC Music’s Afterdark, KCRW’s Metropolis, and RTร‰ 2FM. Tobias is clearly on a meteoric rise as he steadily carves a name for himself in the industry and shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

Bergsonโ€™s passion for music began at 17, not through traditional instruments but by immersing himself in programming and music production on his computer. The Austrian producer creates emotive, melancholic tracks that skillfully blend dancefloor euphoria with intimate emotiveness. At the heart of Bergsonโ€™s work is a desire to convey his emotions and experiences, resulting in intricate, haunting melodies that offer a melancholic yet familiar atmosphere. Inspired by Deadmau5, Ben Bรถhmer, Rampa, and Chris Malinchak, his mesmerizing tracks are reminiscent of a vast array of influences, with elements of deep house, techno, progressive, lounge, and house. The Everything I Do EPโ€™s titular focus track is bound to ensnare fans of Julia Church, Tinlicker, and Nils Hoffmann.

Everything I Do is a breathtaking five-track journey underscored by Tobiasโ€™ unmistakable sonic imprint. From the the percussive vitality of the opening track โ€˜Clear Your Mindโ€™, to the meditative elegance of โ€˜Amarantโ€™, to the breakbeat-laden Garage and Drum & Bass explorations in โ€˜One Dayโ€™, each track reveals a different shade of Tobias’ sound while cohesively preserving the airy, emotive textures that define his work.

The titular single is the shining star in this beautiful body of work. Celestial, twinkling synths and dreamy atmospherics float over a soft house beat. The arrangement is intricate, yet spacious enough to let Theiaโ€™s vocals, controlled yet brimming with passion, take center stage. Theia possesses a rich, breathy timbre and impressive range, reminiscent of Lana Del Rey, buoyed by the delicately ethereal splendor of Tobiasโ€™ masterful production.

Speaking on EPโ€™s focus track, Tobias divulged, โ€œโ€˜Everything I Doโ€™ was a very spontaneous song. At the time, I was really into French 79 and Kid Francescoli, and I wanted to create that kind of vibeโ€”French house, but not just a copy of something else. The chords are very dreamy, and the overall sound of the song isnโ€™t what youโ€™d call mainstream, but thatโ€™s exactly what I liked about it. Tobias adds about the track lyrics: โ€œI brought in the idea of doing something for someone, standing up for someone. That concept immediately clicked with the singer I had already produced two songs with, and she was able to bring it to life perfectly. Theia is extremely talented and possesses a unique quality in her voice that gives the song an incredibly good vibe. Iโ€™m really glad I made this track with her.โ€

Beauty In Chaos – Made Of Rain (Almost Acoustic) ft. Ashton Nyte & Whitney Tai

Beauty In Chaos has today premiered their new video for the track titled ‘Made Of Rain (Almost Acoustic)’, featuring The Awakening’s Ashton Nyte as well as Whitney Tai, from their latest album โ€˜Signs In The Heavens Reality Upside Downโ€™, out now via 33.3 Music Collective.

With the unique addition of a laptop steel, a violin, and a somber setting that collectivizes everything and anything the song is and could ever be, the sheer originality of what Beauty In Chaos stands for is never more evident in this stripped-down and intimate take on an already established song.

The beauty in the chaos is the fact that ‘Made Of Rain (Almost Acoustic)’ is a new song, independent of the other ‘versions’ of the track. A new take on a feeling that quietly demands the attention it attracts. The sparring and jarring duet of Whitney Tai’s and Ashton Nyte’s contrasting, and even contradicting, at times, vocals creates a beautifully crafted and mesmerizing harmony that gives an emotional concept to the lyrics and a muse within the meaning.

The video, directed by Vicente Cordero (Industrialism Films), gives the song a visual style that encapsulates the nuances within the track and, while keeping it a simple performance, visualizes the very atmosphere that the song creates.

About ‘Made Of Rain (Almost Acoustic)’

The ever-evolving, always revolving, worldwide entity known as Beauty In Chaos has just released their newest video/single from their recent re-envision release โ€˜Signs In The Heavens Reality Upside Downโ€™. The โ€œMade Of Rain (Almost Acoustic Version)โ€ features BIC alumni Ashton Nyte and Whitney Tai. This rendition is a delicate and emotional take on the songโ€™s original version, which is the closing track on โ€˜Dancing With Angelsโ€™.

BICโ€™s curator, Michael Ciravolo, states, โ€œI absolutely love that we are able to create these โ€˜stripped-downโ€™ versions of some of our songs, and more so, just how well these are received by our loyal BIC Family! The original version is very special and is probably my favorite song on โ€˜Dancing With Angelsโ€™, but there is also something really beautiful about this โ€˜almost acousticโ€™ version. Ashton and Whitneyโ€™s โ€˜duetโ€™ is simply stunning, with their voices complementing each other. I love the trackโ€™s minimalistic approach, highlighted by Michael Rozonโ€™s haunting pedal steel and BIC newcomer Heather Lockieโ€™s tasteful violin. Tishโ€™s rock-solid acoustic bass and my quasi-pink Floyd-inspired guitar lines support, without distracting, letting Ashtonโ€™s words and melody take the starring role!โ€

Ashton Nyte, who is set to embark on a European tour in support of his new Awakening self-titled release, adds, โ€œ’Made Of Rain’ is a song of hope. It is about getting up and trying again despite the scars life can leave. This “almost acoustic version” is very dear to me. I love the organic elements present: the pedal steel, violin, and, of course, Whitney Tai’s beautiful, ethereal voice elevate this piece, making it something transcendental. Similarly, the video shoot was an almost spiritual experience. A celebration of friends and art. What more can you ask for?โ€

Whitney Tai, who has leant her amazing voice to many BIC tracks, including โ€œOrionโ€, and will release โ€˜American Wastelandโ€™, her third full length album in September, reveals โ€œMade Of Rainโ€ is a warm amber glow in a velveteen speakeasy where tales of folk and longing send a message from the beyond. Thereโ€™s a wisdom and a patience in Ashtonโ€™s voice. His lyrics swarmed in the magic of Beauty In Chaosโ€™ production for the acoustic version hits differently. Doing this duet with Ashton is a dream; he is someone with the vocal tenacity of the wisest tree in the forest. Together, it felt like we planted wildflowers in a gentle field. What made this collab special for me, apart from the music, is the friendship that both Michael, Ashton, and I share. We are family, and making art with feeling is at the forefront of our passionsโ€.

Vicente Cordero (Industrialism Films) was again enlisted to film and direct this new video. Ciravolo says โ€œAs always, we strive to make the new video drastically different from its predecessor, and the simple โ€˜loungeโ€™ setting seemed fitting for this intimate track, certainly a polar opposite to the bombastic sonic and visual overload of โ€œHollowโ€, and as usual, Vicente helped bring this vision to life!โ€

The Evil Winters – Time Stops

The Evil Winters - Time Stops
The Evil Winters - Time Stops

Robert Schnettler has been writing music in one capacity or another since he was a child and is most heavily influenced by the goth and shoegaze movements of the mid-to-late 80s, the ambient electronic movement of the early to mid-90s, and the post-rock movement of the mid-2000s.

His current project, The Evil Winters, recently released a new record called โ€œVariations In Joyful Apotheosis,โ€ which showcases five of Schnettler’s most beautiful and hypnotic compositions to date.

Reflecting on the album’s first single, “Time Stops,” Schnettler saidโ€ฆ

“Time Stops” was created as ambient background music for a guided meditation. (It started considerably less dense), It turned out that another work was chosen, but I loved the long synth line that the song starts with, so I decided to continue working on it. The meandering and sweeping synth alongside the rain stick took me to a different place, and I just kinda let the song take me where it was going. I added the flutes and the bassline and just fell in love with it. It was one of those songs that just poured itself out, and when you are done, you wonder if you really composed it or if it was just using you to come into the world. “

    The Roebucks – Mona

The Roebucks have today dropped their new video for the track titled ‘Mona’ via Goo Records. Part slacker rock with record appeal and alternative for the alternative that is the mainstream, ‘Mona’ brings that anthem for the dis-anthemed needing a break from the normal narcissism and sociopathic groupthink we now call ‘the norm’.

Beautifully constructed as the perfect introduction to your next favorite band, The Roebucks bring the effort with no effort and all the realness you could ever long for.

    About The Roebucks & ‘Mona’

Marrying the grit and gristle of Mississippi Delta blues with the disaffections of Brighton suburbia, The Roebucks are a curiously unique proposition.

Their second release via cult label Goo Records (Jopy, Welly, Canned Pineapple), the new single โ€˜Monaโ€™ takes their idiosyncratic and jangly blend of indie rock and Americana to endearing new heights. Following on from the February release โ€˜Great British Pigโ€™, โ€˜Monaโ€™ is its brighter counterpart, going straight for the jugular with glowing harmonies and vibrant choruses. Defined by Lou Reed-esque spoken word of guitarist/vocalist Tom Cotter and the soaring vocal interplay of Sophie Moloney and Lola Gordon, itโ€™s a track that remains lovingly held together by its boundless charms and unabashed vulnerabilities.

Coming off the back of slots at The Great Escape, Wanderlust, Black Deer, and Mutations festivals, as well as early tastemaker support from Cerys Matthews, Marc Riley (BBC Radio 6Music), John Kennedy (Radio X), BBC Introducing, Far Out, CLUNK, Hard of Hearing, Joyzine and Post-Brexit Pop, โ€˜Monaโ€™โ€™s release also arrives ahead of a clutch of tour dates across the UK (Full details below).

Recorded with multi-platinum producer Warren Huart – whose credits include Aerosmith and The Ramones – and mastered at Stefan Brown at Abbey Road studios, offering more on the single, the band say: “Mona is a song originally written about (singer) Tom Cotter’s frustration with covid and how it was isolating him to his bedroom. Without wanting to be too literal, we changed the lyric from “Hey Rona” to “Hey Mona”. When we had a girl’s name instead, it became more of a song of yearning for a lost lover. We wanted a hint of Lou Reed’s talking/singing style in the verses and a Beach Boys-esque layered outro with all three harmonies.”

    Millkzy – aseverancesickness

    Millkzy
    Millkzy

Millkzyโ€™s gift for spoken word weaves as an aspirational narrative on his new single โ€œaseverancesickness,โ€. Throughout the track, he shares a cautionary tale from an outsiderโ€™s perspective with a heartfelt plea to himself.

โ€œaseverancesicknessโ€ is a deeply introspective exploration of maturity in all its forms โ€“ cognitive, emotional, and social. With storytelling that is both gritty and inspirational, Millkzy introduces himself as the narrator and leans into the dualities that define us. The song offers an honest snapshot of his world and invites listeners to feel deeply, embracing every version of themselves along the journey to becoming who we are meant to be.

Millkzy previously shared two solo releases leading up to his latest entry, including โ€œ7 MINUTES IN HEAVENโ€ and โ€œuntil we eat each other.โ€ The new single also builds off the momentum of Januaryโ€™s AN AUTHORโ€™S DEMISE project. Showcasing why heโ€™s the perfect hybrid of hip-hop, R&B, and spoken word. He continuously places himself at the heart of narratives that reveal his strength, vulnerability, and the nuanced realities of identity as a Black man.

In other exciting news, Millkzy is gearing up for a summer run as part of his FLOETRY FOR THE FANS tour. The two-stop tour includes a special performance in his hometown of Dallas (July 17) at the House of Blues before making landfall in Los Angeles (July 19) at the Moroccan Lounge.

With no signs of slowing down and more new music on the horizon, Millkzy is carving out a space uniquely his own. Heโ€™s quickly emerging as a standout voice in the next wave of alternative R&B and melodic rap, developing a reputation for his signature blend of vulnerability, subtle genre-bending, and confessional lyricism.

    About Millkzy

Millkzy โ€” born Dev โ€” is a 21-year-old R&B and hip-hop artist making waves out of Dallas, Texas. Originally from St. Louis, heโ€™s spent the past six years refining a sound that blends soulful vocals, lovesick R&B, and modern atmospheric beats. Drawing inspiration from icons like J. Cole and Cleo Sol, Millkzy creates music that feels both nostalgic and fresh, pairing raw, poetic lyricism with contagious melodies.

Recently rebranding to embrace a more storytelling-driven style, Millkzyโ€™s emotional authenticity has earned him growing recognition and a loyal audience. Now signed to Broke Records, heโ€™s poised to leave a lasting mark on the music scene with a fresh perspective, undeniable passion, and boundary-pushing creativity.

    Madanes – Your Dog

Madanes has today released his new video for the track titled ‘Your Dog’. A bit of sweet and sneaky snark in the face of all that is mainstream, Madanes adds the comedic visual element for added independence from everything they want you to like.

As a dog owner myself, I can’t help but chuckle throughout and empathize with everything I see. But, with metaphors often running as deep as they do with ambiguity, I can’t help but wonder what the deeper meaning may be.

Whatever that is, it’s personal and up to each and every listener. What I can tell you is that this is a truly endearing song with a must-watch video.

    About ‘Your Dog’

Madanes, singer-songwriter, announces the release of his new single โ€œYour Dogโ€. Known for his unique fusion of genres and biting wit, Madanes delivers a genre-bending track thatโ€™s equal parts pop, indie & rock, served with an unforgettable hook.

Accompanying the song is a puppetry music video, directed by Lior Molcho (Sia- Cheap Thrills, David Guetta – Flames). Madanesโ€™ previous satirical animated puppetry video, US released, โ€œIn Love with Laura Ingraham [Whatโ€™s Wrong With Me],โ€ has amassed over 254,000 views on YouTube, cementing his reputation as a singular voice in alternative music.

Speaking about the new single, Madanes explains: “I was in love with her. She was not in love with me, but in the meantime, a strong relationship developed with her dog. If she could only love me as her dog does.โ€

Walking the line between Elton John, Ian Dury, and Frank Zappa, local media calls him โ€œthe fringe of the mainstream”.

    AGA – Ambient 2.0

    AGA - Ambient 2.0
    AGA - Ambient 2.0

AGA is set to release his new single titled ‘Ambient 2.0’ on June 20th. With a sparse sound and obscure sonic canvas, ‘Ambient 2.0’ feels like a dream. Something conceptualized as it is created. The silence between the spaces says as much as the melodies. This could be considered a score for a thought. Something in your head that just got a soundtrack.

AGA (Alessandro Antolini) is a dreamcatcher as much as he is a musician. Someone who skates the line between music and muse. He is one of those artists who takes the obscure made famous by the likes of Sigur Rรณs, M83, Mogwai, and more and adds his signature to that esteemed list. Emotion as a construct, so to speak.

However you listen to ‘Ambient 2.0’, realize that you will get lost. You will relax and ingest. And, in the end, you will find yourself again. This is what music should do.

    About ‘Ambient 2.0’

Ambient 2.0 focuses on light movements, gently guiding the listener to feel their inner state and then to shape the reality that surrounds them. The main inspiration is undoubtedly Brian Eno, filtered through a contemporary approach; nevertheless, the minimalistic sound and its rhythmic interweavings lighten up with the building of the composition, warmed by timbres that could remind Olafur Arnalds, finally reaching a suspended finale.

The act of listening leads to becoming conduction, the act of not listening leads to a model of inertia. The word listening itself merges with the paths, known and unknown to us, where the perception of places can mutate. The video clip – shot by Alexis Ciancio – through psychedelic ‘deceptions’ fixes as unique the mixture of actions that are lost between the fluctuation of the song.

Ambient 2.0 was composed, performed, and mixed by Alessandro Antolini. Mastering by Alessandro Piatto (NOIA).

    About AGA

AGA is a composer, creative performer, and founder of the Drummer Caffรจ record label.

Born Alessandro Antolini, he’s been a drummer and drum teacher for over twenty years, after graduating from Middlesex University in London. Antolini has collaborated with the late Maestro Ezio Bosso and has composed and published 4 albums to date: R[Evolution], Dream On, and more recently, Imagine and Short B-Movies.

The musician’s intense concert activity includes key appearances in Italian and European theaters and clubs, with highlights as the openings for Tom Barman (dEUS) and Blaine L. Reininger (Tuxedomoon).

Suki Summer – Love Sick and Sick of Love

    Suki Summer
    Suki Summer

Indie-pop newcomer Suki Summer releases her most personal work to date with the stunning new EP, ‘Love Sick and Sick of Love’ โ€” a six-track project that explores the nuanced emotional terrain of modern love, heartbreak, and self-reclamation, represented by Decent Music PR. With immersive soundscapes and lyricism that oscillates between raw vulnerability and self-aware empowerment, Suki solidifies her voice in the genreโ€™s evolving landscape.

Inspired by artists like Clairo, Lana Del Rey, Mazzy Star, and Gracie Abrams, Suki fuses dreamy melancholia with a sharp, poetic edge. Her latest body of work invites listeners into intimate moments of connection and disconnection, threading together a cinematic narrative of summer romance, emotional aftermath, and eventual growth.

โ€œThe EP explores being lovesick, experiencing heartbreak, longing, and unrequited love. The EP also explores being sick of love, discussing fleeting connections, failed talking stages, and my tiredness with the repetitive nature of modern dating.โ€ Suki Summer shares on the release.

    Track by Track

    Summer Crush

A glittery, flirtatious opener, Summer Crush captures the butterflies of a first queer summer fling. Playful yet self-aware, it navigates the exhilarating awkwardness of new desire with lighthearted charm. Think open windows, golden light, and sticky-sweet first touches.

    Marianne

Written during travels through Italy, Marianne is a dreamy elegy to a what-could-have-been. It’s the sonic embodiment of nostalgia, blending rich melodic layers with lyrical grief over distance, disillusionment, and romantic fantasy dissolving into reality.

Love Sick and Sick of Love

The title track offers a sharp turn, weary yet empowered. With biting wit and an airy nonchalance, Suki critiques the repetitiveness of modern dating culture, ephemeral connections, and the performative confidence of emotionally unavailable partners. A slow-burning anthem of emotional burnout.

    used to you

Heartache cloaked in soft production, used to dealing with complacency, regret, and mutual neglect. The track asks tough questions about loveโ€™s authenticity when both people take each other for granted. Itโ€™s introspective, melancholy, and beautifully understated.

    I Still Want U

The emotional peak of the EP, ‘I Still Want U’ is a haunting confession of lingering love. Torn between memory and moving on, it paints the ache of seeing a lost love in every new connection. Honest and aching, this track is a gut-punch wrapped in silk.

    outro (itโ€™s nvr bye itโ€™s jus c ya l8r)

The EP closes with a minimalist, oceanic farewell. A meditative, near-acoustic track that mirrors the emotional release of letting go. Itโ€™s a quiet triumph โ€” not of getting over someone, but of choosing peace and self-love over the pain of holding on.

    About Suki Summer

Suki Summer crafts immersive soundscapes that resonate with vulnerability, intimacy, and self-empowerment. Sukiโ€™s lyricism is unique in its fearless storytelling and emotional honesty. Each release dives into themes of love, identity, and freedom with lyrical precision and sonic depth. Her music resonates with listeners who crave both nostalgic warmth and modern relevance, carving out a space where personal stories meet universal truths.

With her style and poetic approach, Suki is rapidly establishing herself as a fresh voice in indie-pop music. Her growing catalogue not only reflects her artistic versatility but also her commitment to telling stories that are as raw as they are relatable. As she continues to evolve, Suki stands poised to make a lasting impact on the contemporary music landscape.

    Choke City – Growing Gash

    Choke City
    Choke City

Choke City is a band from Budapest, Hungary, consisting of stable members of the local underground scene. In their current venture, they’ve cut ties with their musical past to create their present sound of melancholic, eerie, yet heavy, sonic textures.

Their style can be best described by the abstract visions of their covers, which blend post-punk, all eras of wave Music, with a pinch of heaviness to emphasize the introverted vibes, much like salt helps elevate all flavors.

After dropping a full-length album besides 5 singles/eps since 2021, and publishing a live set recorded at the prestigious House of Arts in Szekszรกrd, the band is ready to unleash new songs in 2025 on Budapest-based Corbata Records.

Sarina – Race with no end

Sarina - Race with no end
Sarina - Race with no end

Rising pop-rock musician Sarina can see the finish line with her sonically uplifting and lyrically honest single, โ€œRace with no end.โ€ This healing, introspective anthem emphasizes remaining authentic to yourself in a world full of comparisons, persevering through the trials and tribulations that life and people throw your way. โ€œRace with no endโ€ is available to stream and download worldwide, accompanied by an animated music video available on Sarinaโ€™s YouTube channel.

Produced by Kevin Thrasher (Panic! At The Disco, Blink-182, Avril Lavigne), โ€œRace with no endโ€ is an engagingly heartfelt single racing into all-too relatable themes of discovering how to be true to yourself when the world seems to cast its stones of judgment, leaving you โ€˜Chasing a circle looking for the edge.โ€™ This upbeat pop ballad embodies a piano pop melody infused with deep lyricism and catchy instrumentals, creating a comforting landscape. “‘Race with no end’ is a song about choosing to continue fighting even when it feels pointless,โ€ Sarina explains. There is no simple recipe on how to live life, but for Sarina, giving up is not the solution. โ€œIn a world where we are constantly being faced with comparisons and reasons why we aren’t good enough, โ€˜Race with no end is a hopeful reminder to persevere even in the face of darkness.โ€ Making it a passion to create music that resonates with listeners, she emphasizes, โ€œI hope it will help and inspire people to keep going the way it has me.” This enchanting single was written by Sarina, Matt McAndrew (Rain City Drive), and Thrasher.

Born in Hawaii to two artistically gifted parents, a Lebanese mother and Japanese father, Sarina discovered her passion for music at a very young age, taking piano lessons and finding an interest in pursuing music and other instruments like the guitar, ukulele, drums, and bass. After signing with Sonyโ€™s RED label, she released 6 singles and her Forward EP. Under the label, she also released 6 music videos where she storyboarded and created original concepts and detail-oriented symbolism for each. Utilizing her talent, Sarina chose to co-found a new label, SyrenSong, in May of 2024 and signed a distribution deal with Warner/ADA in early 2025. To showcase her artistry, she has been championed by many notable outlets and playlists such as Spotifyโ€™s coveted New Music Friday, Ones To Watchโ€™s Now Watching and Apple Musicโ€™s New in Rock and New in Alternative, and secured prominent features in New Noise Magazine, Music Connection Magazine, Tokyo Noise, Lock Magazine, and more. Known for her fiery, unapologetic persona and edgy, rock style, Sarina is ready to take on the Western music scene by storm.

โ€œRace with no endโ€ is a radiant track carrying listeners with its unforgettable rhythm and open lyricism, diving into topics that all audiences can relate to. โ€œThis song is a kind of reminder to us all that even in our darkest moments, when we wonder what the point of it all is, we can choose to have hope. We can choose to try. Thereโ€™s a fire in all of us, and sometimes we canโ€™t see it, but that doesnโ€™t mean it isnโ€™t there. When you feel like youโ€™re not enough, remember that you are made of starlight, the sun is our ancestor, and that light is always inside us.โ€

    About Sarina

Sarina is a rising alt-rock sensation from Tokyo, Japan, blending the raw energy of early 2010s pop-punk with her own unapologetic, edgy rock style. A bilingual artist born in Hawaii to a Lebanese mother and Japanese father, Sarina’s international upbringing in Tokyo has deeply influenced her music, resonating with fans of The Pretty Reckless, YUNGBLUD, and Paramore.

From a young age, Sarina was absorbed in a world of music and creativity, beginning with classical piano lessons at just two years old. Her journey soon expanded to include guitar and ukulele, instruments she continues to cherish for their versatility. With a profound respect for both the dark and light aspects of life, influenced by her artistically gifted parents, Sarinaโ€™s music explores themes of mental health and personal struggle, creating a sound that is both deeply relatable and emotionally powerful.

Sarina’s debut single, “Identity,” released under the Sony RED label, showcased her multi-instrumental talents, as she played drums, guitar, bass, and piano on the track. With Sony Red, she released five more singles, an EP titled Foreword, and six music videos, which she story-boarded and headed with her original concepts and detail-oriented symbolism, before launching SyrenSong in May of 2024, a label spearheaded alongside her mother, who is one of Japan’s successful music business entrepreneurs. Filled with thought-provoking lyrics and catchy melodies, her songs have earned her coveted playlist spots on Spotifyโ€™s โ€œNew Music Friday,โ€ Ones to Watchโ€™s โ€œNow Watching,โ€ Apple Musicโ€™s โ€œNew in Rockโ€ and โ€œNew in Alternative.โ€

In addition to her solo work, Sarina lent her voice to the main vocal trio for the video game company Square Enix’s JRPG Triangle Strategy, collaborating with renowned composer Senju Akira. With the release of her Break Out!! EP, and new singles on the horizon, produced in collaboration with Grammy-winning producer Erik Ron (I Prevail, Staind, Bush) and platinum record producer and Escape the Fate guitarist Kevin Thrasher (Panic! At The Disco, Blink-182, Avril Lavigne), Sarina is ready to take the Western music scene by storm.

Julia Jade – actually, I have time

    Julia Jade
    Julia Jade

Julia Jade has today released her new single titled ‘actually, I have time’. I always wonder why I sometimes get songs with titles that lack caps. I just realized with ‘actually, I have time’, at least, it is to highlight how unassuming the track is. It’s simply there, like an old friend. This matches what the lyrics convey.

Musically, the track is a slow build to a needed conclusion. Comforting the message and caressing the words. Adding feeling to a message we all need to hear, even though most of us think this at least once a day. But, with ‘actually, I have time’, I get the message that time is more of a companion than a predator, holding our hand as we sift through life. But, like the song conveys, time is what we make of it.

    About ‘actually, I have time’

Julia Jade wrote the single in a moment of anxiety, grappling with the pressure to โ€œmake itโ€ before itโ€™s too late, and shaped it into a gentle anthem for those overwhelmed by ambition. โ€œI wrote this song about pursuing a dream and feeling like youโ€™re constantly running out of timeโ€ฆ like, if you havenโ€™t achieved it fully by now, youโ€™ll never do it,โ€ she shares. โ€œI wanted it to be an affirmation you could sing anytime that feeling snuck up on you. Something simple and easy to rememberโ€”so you really could use it as a tool.โ€

Inspired by the tone of Mister Rogersโ€™ Neighborhood, Julia Jade imagined the song as something soft, sincere, and kind enough to be sung to a child, or your inner child. Featuring ethereal strings, dreamy guitar textures, and layered vocals from close friends, the track is less about fixing everything, and more about remembering you’re not alone: โ€œIf youโ€™re singing it wrong or you sing out of tune / You wonโ€™t sing it alone โ€˜cause Iโ€™ll sing it with you.โ€ The warm and inviting atmosphere of the track is shaped by Wassim Rahmani (guitar), Ivan Krnic (bass), and Anastasiia (strings), with mixing by Confluence Audio and mastering by Xavier Hill.

The song was written and produced entirely by Julia Jade, who says having friends sing on it โ€œfelt symbolic of the way your friends lift you up, affirm you, and believe in you in the moments that you donโ€™t believe in yourself.โ€ Though she attempted to write this song years ago and didnโ€™t quite have the words, she now shares, โ€œIโ€™m really glad it exists now and hope anyone who feels in a rush to have it all figured out stumbles upon this at the exact moment they need it.โ€

Born and raised in Los Angeles in a home full of comedy and music, Julia Jade has become no stranger to the entertainment industry. She has honed in on producing music that has theatrical alt-pop elements with twee undertones marked with a quirk and open diary-like lyricism. At just 3 years old, she immersed herself in the world of music, taking piano and guitar lessons, where Julia Jade eventually discovered her inherent passion for songwriting, even locking herself in her room until she wrote a full song at the age of 7.

Partaking in theatre groups in school and realizing an even deeper connection to the arts, she started to perform her songs, including the first original piece she ever played publicly called “February Flowers.โ€ Owning her craft, Julia Jade affirmed that she wanted to pursue songwriting, skipping the 11th grade and applying to colleges early; she was admitted to Berklee College of Music, auditioning with that original song. As a well-rounded singer-songwriter, Julia Jade crafts songs that give voice to universal truths and resonate deeply with her fans.

Often drawing similarities with artists such as Ingrid Michaelson, Rilo Kiley, Regina Spektor, The Weepies, and even Bo Burnham, she weaves a tapestry of love, loss, friendship, and simple joys that reflect her beliefs, passions, and humor, from pop culture to social justice. Beyond her solo work, Julia Jade also curates and headlines the popular, bi-monthly, pajama-themed music series, “Slumber Party Sessions,” at The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, which has become a staple of Hollywood nightlife for the last three years running. With a mantra of โ€œyouโ€™re always invited,โ€ the series encourages a come-one, come-all vibe of intimacy, inclusion, and connection between artists and audiences. Making music laced with authenticity, Julia Jade emphasizes the importance of owning her own sonic identity that separates her from others, marking her place as a rising indie pop musician.

    About Julia Jade

Having lived in the music scenes of Boston, Nashville, and Los Angeles, Julia brings a unique blend of storytelling and musicality to the indie pop genre. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Julia crafts songs that give voice to universal truths and resonate deeply with her fans. Her latest release, โ€œextra(ordinary)โ€ is a meditation on how the little drudgeries of life (sitting in traffic, going to the DMV, doing taxes!) become magical experiences when shared with someone you truly love. The accompanying music video is an homage to the Jim + Pam relationship from โ€œThe Office,โ€ replete with nods and Easter Eggs that Office fans love.

Beyond her solo work, Julia also curates and headlines the popular, bi-monthly, pajama-themed music series, “Slumber Party Sessions,” at The Hotel Cafe in Hollywood, which has become a staple of Hollywood nightlife three years running. Ryan Dunn – Lovin’ You

    Ryan Dunn
    Ryan Dunn

Ryan Dunn has today dropped his new single titled ‘Lovin’ You’. If soul is the goal, this is a clear and bona fide hat trick. The nostalgia factor is a welcome addition to a lush sound, but this has an almost ‘spot on’ feel of the time and era it’s emulating. Everything from instrument tonality to recording process, the sound is beautifully recreated, yet, has a meaning and purpose in the now, as if this now is the time for this music to become huge and relevant again.

And what Ryan shows us is that it has always been relevant. Simple, pure, unaffected by what is in the spotlight and what is grabbing the clout, ‘Lovin’ You’ stands on its own. As it should.

About Ryan Dunn & ‘Lovin’ You’

Drawing inspiration from the golden age of ’60s soul and paying homage to the Motown greats, Lovinโ€™ You transports its timeless essence into the 2020s, delivering a fresh, dynamic sound.

Formerly the frontman of Leicester four-piece Gazelle, from which he gained a reputation as an exceptional songwriting talent, Ryan has embarked on a bold new journey, channeling his deep-rooted love for the retro sounds of the 50s and 60s into an exciting new project. But this isnโ€™t just nostalgiaโ€”itโ€™s a carefully crafted fusion of past and present. After months in the studio refining his signature style, Ryan emerges with a sound that captures the best of both worlds.

The track has already been met with enthusiastic praise across social media, with fans raving about its infectious groove and stunning music video (below).

With Lovinโ€™ You, Ryan Dunn is not just introducing his debut singleโ€” heโ€™s bringing a rich musical heritage into the future with style, energy, and undeniable passion.

    Dummy Thicc – Aw Shit!

    Dummy Thicc
    Dummy Thicc

Dummy Thicc has today released his new album titled ‘Aw Shit!’ via Mutual Intentions AS. While there is a lot to digest with this double album, there is also a lot of musical diversity. With multiple collaborations from different walks of life, there is a global atmosphere throughout the album that gives you the luxury of pressing play and just letting the album run its course.

While some of the tracks give you that slow build to a crescendo, others get right to it. Almost feeling like a concept from a concept, ‘Aw Shit!’ is all feels amid diversity and creative inclusion that melds and molds the muse and gets right to the stylistic point. This is a journey.

    About Dummy Thicc

A veteran of the Scandinavian music scene, Dummy Thicc has lent his signature drum work to some of Norwayโ€™s biggest musical exports, including Boy Pablo and AURORA, as well as his own R&B/soul collective Giddy Gang. Now, he emerges center stage, armed with a vision that blends the experimental edges of hip-hop, the warmth of R&B, and the dusty textures of psychedelic funk and jazz.

“A lot of the music was made during lockdown, and the album was completed in 2020,” says Dummy Thicc. “This project represents a time of experimenting and searching for new musical vibes, with some parts purely instrumental and others featuring rap. ‘Aw Shit!’ isnโ€™t about fitting into any one genre but is about exploring and having fun with music. The singles offer a glimpse into that creative process.”

The album is a sonic love letter to the beat culture that inspired Dummy Thiccโ€™s artistryโ€”fans of DJ Harrison, Madlib, Ohbliv, and the iconic Ninja Tune label will find themselves right at home. Split into two distinct halves:

    • Side A offers a raw, intimate experience with Dummy Thicc performing nearly every instrument himself.
    • Side B brings a collaborative energy, with contributions from friends and frequent collaborators, including acclaimed Norwegian rapper Ivan Ave, Zimbabwe-born,

Oslo-based hip-hop artist Vuyo and members of Giddy Gang, adding lyrical depth and new textures to the mix.

This debut release is more than a producer albumโ€”itโ€™s a snapshot of an artist stepping into full creative ownership. Itโ€™s eclectic, emotional, and unafraid to take risks.

With a firm foundation in rhythm and a playful, boundary-pushing approach to sound, ‘Aw Shit!’ is a fitting introduction to an artist we thought we already knewโ€”and a taste of whatโ€™s to come from Sigmund Vestrheimโ€™s next chapter.

    Josh McCausland – Lurking Within + Q&A

    Josh McCausland
    Josh McCausland

Brooklyn-based composer and producer Josh McCausland returns with โ€˜Pieces from a Forgotten Timeโ€™ โ€” a cinematic and emotionally rich body of work that blurs the lines between ambient electronica and neo-classical storytelling. Known for his textural approach to music-making and a background steeped in film and photography, McCausland crafts soundscapes that feel like intimate reflections captured through a lens of quiet nostalgia.

The albumโ€™s lead single, โ€˜Lurking Withinโ€™, showcases McCausland at his most sonically adventurous. Itโ€™s a gripping piece of experimental electronica built around haunting melodies, ethereal piano lines, and immersive sound design. At once hypnotic and deeply human, the track floats between minimal techno and the melancholic weight of cinematic scoring, echoing the sonic tension of shows like Severance or the emotional pull of a Max Richter score.

โ€œI’ve always been drawn to contrast,โ€ McCausland says. โ€œBeauty amid chaos. Thatสผs the balance I’m chasing. This track is a reflection of that moment in my life: uncertain, restless, but still reaching for something meaningful.โ€

โ€œโ€˜Lurking Withinโ€™ is about the quiet things we carry โ€” the thoughts, fears, or memories that sit just beneath the surface. Itสผs not about some dramatic explosion of emotion, but the subtle, persistent weight of something unresolved. To me, it feels like the sound of tension that hasnสผt found its release yet.โ€

    About โ€˜Pieces from a Forgotten Timeโ€™

โ€˜Pieces from a Forgotten Timeโ€™ marks McCauslandโ€™s continued evolution as an artist. While his previous releases, including fan-favorite โ€œOpus 30,โ€ built his reputation among ambient and classical audiences (with features on Spotifyโ€™s Peaceful Piano and Deep Focus playlists), this latest collection pushes further into the experimental realm. The compositions here breathe and evolve, often feeling more like unfolding scenes than songs, held together by Joshโ€™s meticulous attention to detail and emotional resonance.

    About Josh McCausland

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, McCauslandโ€™s creative journey began in visual storytelling โ€” filmmaking, photography, and design. Music became a space of personal exploration, away from deadlines and deliverables. That sense of freedom permeates โ€˜Pieces from a Forgotten Timeโ€™ โ€” an album born from stillness, reflection, and a search for meaning in the quiet moments of life.

Joshโ€™s work has been licensed across major platforms, including HBO, Discovery, and Amazon Prime, and he has reached over 4 million global listeners across digital platforms. With โ€˜Pieces from a Forgotten Timeโ€™, McCausland invites audiences into a beautifully constructed world โ€” one where time slows, emotions linger, and the unspoken comes to life through sound.

    Q&A

How was the art from your album made, and what do the literal โ€˜missing piecesโ€™ and swirling black and white marble look represent?

The cover art was created by my friend, very talented writer and visual artist Daniel Adams-Dufresne (aka @artificelux). His answer is below.

The art was made entirely using Photoshop and Illustrator, with special noise-based gradient maps for the texture (never any AI). Most of it was done while listening to an early mix of the album.

As for the symbolism: the missing circles are like a life story, who we are now, minus the pieces weโ€™ve lost, plus the dark circles, which are the pieces that have calcified. All of them are memories and building blocksโ€ฆ pieces from a forgotten time.

In the artwork for the singles, each shows just a solitary circle, like each track is its own piece.

In a similar vein, the marble-like texture feels both permanent and changeable, as if the wavy lines could come to life at any moment. I use a lot of grainy distortion and marks of dissolution in my artworks, but wanted something less gritty to befit this albumโ€ฆ trying to express that distortion differently is what led me to this final texture.

Where were most of your pieces from your new album composed? Do you feel that where you compose makes an audible difference in your work(s)?

Most of the album was written in our one-bedroom apartment in Brooklyn. I travel a lot, so the sounds of movement โ€” trains, planes, city streets โ€” often linger in my head, even when itโ€™s quiet. I think that residual hum shows up in the music. I believe location affects how a song feels, but for me, due to space and resources, it all gets made right there in that small room โ€” and I think that gives the work a certain closeness and rawness.

Do you have any particular ritual you complete before composing? Grab a cup of tea? How do you get into a flow state?

Honestly, no strict ritual โ€” I have a lot of unfinished ideas sitting around. Likeโ€ฆ a lot, lot. I usually start something, get bored, move on, and later go back and sift through what Iโ€™ve made until a few tracks start to feel ready to grow.

Lighting matters a lot to me. I donโ€™t work well in overly bright spaces โ€” moody lighting, LED glow, thatโ€™s where I thrive creatively. That said, I do love tracking live instruments in natural light.

When I know itโ€™s time to write, I just know. Sometimes Iโ€™ll get a melody looped in my head and canโ€™t move on with anything else until I get it out. Thatโ€™s usually the signal.

The bass in โ€˜Lurking Withinโ€™ is so broad and deepโ€ฆ directly contrasting the delicate, treble in the ethereal piano. Can you tell us a bit about your EQing and other post-production processes?

My post-production process is pretty simple. I try not to overproduce. In Lurking Within, the bass anchors the whole piece โ€” it pushes and pulls against the piano bits, and they live on opposite ends of the EQ. The mids fight for attention in a way that creates this natural tension.

I learned a lot during this project, including things Iโ€™d do differently. I think I couldโ€™ve carved out a little more of the low end, but I like where it landed.

As for tools, I love analog gear. I often run audio from my DAW through my Resonant Garden, which gives me beautiful, unpredictable reverb tails and weird harmonic swells. I also use iZotopeโ€™s Trash on almost every project โ€” it lets me destroy and reshape sounds in a way that makes them feel human and imperfect, which I love.

I listened to your album, โ€˜Back to My Rootsโ€™, just after โ€˜Pieces From a Forgotten Timeโ€™. Itโ€™s melodic, homey, and a wonderful concept album. This led me to wonderโ€ฆHow does being a professional guitar player affect your voicing and compositional workflow?

I think it influences me a lot, even if subtly. Singing has always made me anxious, so the guitar kind of became my voice. My style is pretty patient and minimal, and I think that translates into the way I build ambient or cinematic compositions.

That said, I love how different this album feels from my guitar work. Itโ€™s chaotic, unpredictable, and often feels like itโ€™s barely holding together โ€” but in a good way. When I play guitar, I sometimes get stuck in patterns or muscle memory. But with piano, Iโ€™m completely untrained and unfiltered โ€” itโ€™s just me, mashing keys until something clicks or feels right.

Itโ€™s like handing a hormonal teenage boy a sledgehammer in a china shop and saying, โ€œHave fun.โ€ And somehow, thatโ€™s my process โ€” and I enjoy it.

Finally, you mention that โ€˜Lurking Withinโ€™ reflects a moment in your life which was โ€uncertain, restless, but still reaching for something meaningfulโ€. What is it exactly that you were reaching for? What elements of music did you employ to make the feeling become so life-like?

I think I was reaching for a sense of meaning, plain and simple, but also kind of enormous. I wrote a lot of this album in my early 30s, in a phase where I was asking big, unanswerable questions: Whatโ€™s my purpose? Whatโ€™s all the grind for? Will I regret how Iโ€™ve spent my time?

I had just moved to NYC and gotten married, and my personal life felt solid โ€” something I could lean on. But creatively and professionally, I was unsure. Thatโ€™s where the restlessness came from.

And I spiral sometimes when I start asking those big questions. Thatโ€™s the feeling Lurking Within captures โ€” that tension of searching for something without even knowing exactly what it is.

Iโ€™ve come to realize those questions may never have clean answers. You just learn to break them into manageable pieces and keep moving. But music helps me process all of it. It lets me translate whatโ€™s happening inside into something I can sit with. Itโ€™s a reflection of the way I think โ€” scattered, searching, but always chasing something real. Well, real enough.

    Edie – Girl’s Girl

    Edie
    Edie

Boorloo (Perth) songwriter EDIE has made a name for herself through biting back at the misogyny that lurks all around, and now sheโ€™s turning the camera around to the girls who take part in tearing each other down in her newest single, โ€˜Girlโ€™s Girlโ€™.

Perthโ€™s indie/ pop-rock princess EDIE is back with the same punch of energy sheโ€™s growing to be known and loved for, as shown through her 2024 debut EP and live shows buzzing with electricity. She kicked off 2025 with her last release, โ€˜Bleedโ€™, catching the attention of Triple J, RAGE, Triple J Unearthed, Rolling Stone, and even receiving a WAM nomination in the pop category, showing off how people crave her blend of girliness and edge.

โ€˜Girlโ€™s Girlโ€™ has that signature EDIE bite with its toe-tapping electric basslines and its catchy drum loops, with EDIEโ€™s strong voice helping the lyrics to stand out and be heard. This tune is versatile and addictive, the kind of song that can be listened to as a background track or really heard with the meaning of it raining down.

This song isn’t afraid to call out those who aren’t a โ€˜Girlโ€™s Girlโ€™โ€” Girl’s girls lift each other and arenโ€™t afraid to call out misogyny, even when itโ€™s coming from another woman. As such, this song is a softer side to EDIEโ€™s usually cutting discography, a song more sad than angry. When a man is sexist, it’s half-expected, but the friendly fire of a girl turning her back on another girl feels like a betrayal. EDIE says,

โ€œโ€˜Girlโ€™s Girlโ€™ is about the girls who donโ€™t support other girls! The ones who say they are there for you but then stab you in the back. And the ones who say, โ€œIโ€™m one of the boysโ€ or โ€œI donโ€™t hang out with girls, theyโ€™re too much drama!โ€ I am exhausted with it! Letโ€™s all support each other and lift each other!โ€

Andrea Van Cleef – Wrong Side of a Gun

Andrea Van Cleef has just premiered his new video for the track titled ‘Wrong Side of a Gun’, from his upcoming album ‘Greetings from Slaughter Creek’, dropping June 26th via Rivertale Productions.

Andrea has an iconic and original voice, to be quite honest. It’s captivating. It takes you on the journey that is the song. But, there is a quiet world-building feel to the album, ‘Greetings from Slaughter Creek’, that surrounds the listener in such a way that you feel like you’re a part of the show. Stripped down and threadbare, ‘Wrong Side of a Gun’ is but a peek into what Andrea’s music represents as much as what it delivers.

Recorded at Smilinโ€™ Castle Studio in Kyle, Texas, on December 30, 2024, ‘Greetings from Slaughter Creek’ is a signature set from an Italian artist interpreting Americana with an original style that shows how much he gets it. He knows the meaning as much as the music. Feels the stories and conveys the message. A true artist in an adapted environment.

Check out our other features with Andrea Van Cleef HERE.

    About ‘Greetings from Slaughter Creek’

Between December 2024 and January 2025, Van Cleef returned to the United States for a short Texan tour between Austin, Dallas and Houston, accompanied by guitarist Simon Grazioli, already a close collaborator for the tour of the previous album โ€œHorse Latitudesโ€ – presented with over 60 dates between Italy and Europe – which received an excellent reception from international critics, including magazines such as Rolling Stone France and Americana UK, and popular playlists such as the series by American curator Donโ€™s Tunes (blues, country and jazz).

โ€œGreetings from Slaughter Creekโ€ is a journey through Andrea Van Cleefโ€™s previous solo albums (โ€œHorse Latitudesโ€ 2024, โ€œSafari Stationโ€ 2021, โ€œTropic of Nowhereโ€ 2018, โ€œSundogโ€ 2012), and ends with the cover of โ€œBig Riverโ€, a tribute to the great American singer-songwriter Johnny Cash to whom Van Cleefโ€™s current sound is indebted. The live performance was recorded in the studios of producer and musician Rick Del Castillo – collaborator of Hollywood director Robert Rodriguez for the soundtracks of โ€œOnce Upon a Time in Mexicoโ€ and โ€œMacheteโ€, as well as for the version of โ€œMalagueรฑa Salerosaโ€ that appeared in Quentin Tarantinoโ€™s Kill Bill Vol. 2 – where the American session of โ€œHorse Latitudesโ€ was recorded, also released by Rivertale Productions.

Alongside Van Cleef and Grazioli, Mike Zeoli (drummer for Del Castillo and Chingรฒn, the band of director Rodriquez), Matthew Smith (famous American guitar sessionman, teacher and demonstrator for various brands, Tech21, Supro, Fret King), Stefano Intelisano (keyboardist and accordionist in great demand in the USA, regular collaborator of David Grissom and BoDeans) and Patricia Vonne (acclaimed songwriter and actress, sister of Rodriguez himself) played in the live session.

โ€œWrong Side Of A Gunโ€ is the single chosen for the launch of โ€œGreetings from Slaughter Creekโ€. Accompanied by a video shot during the live session, the song was originally recorded in 2018 as a duet with Patricia Vonne and released on Andrea Van Cleefโ€™s album entitled โ€œTropic of Nowhereโ€. The lyrics use the western metaphor of being on the wrong side of a gun in a moment of adversity in life and hint at the illness of the authorโ€™s mother, who passed away three years later.

    About Andrea Van Cleef

Guitarist and enthusiast of stringed instruments in general, voice with an intense and recognizable timbre, Andrea Van Cleef composes, sings, and plays his songs, for some time producing for other artists as well. In 2012, his first solo album, “Sundog,” is the ultimate revelation of his expressive and compositional skills, with an international scope. He sings and writes exclusively in English, but with the creative and visionary Italian approach, as well as the pragmatism, also from a sonic point of view, of his Vallecamonica mountains. And it is this unique and personal style of the self-produced “Sundog” that has garnered interest among insiders and fans of the genre, to the extent that it has become a mini-cult album and earned several reissues following its collaboration with the Rivertale Productions label.

The most relevant and inescapable part of Van Cleef’s musical activity is undoubtedly his live performance. Not only “Sundog” was presented in tour through Italy, Switzerland and Germany, but the live shows intensified at a very fast pace, about 90-100 concerts annually, with the subsequent albums โ€œTropic Of Nowhereโ€ (2018, Rivertale Productions) and โ€Safari Stationโ€ (co-written with blues-folk Diego Deadman Potron, 2021, Rivertale productions/ Timezone) and the EP โ€œ135โ€ (2020, Rivertale Productions).

In 2024, the release of the album โ€œHorse Latitudesโ€ (Rivertale Productions), a songwriting of American origin, veering towards the more southern gothic atmospheres, indebted to Johnny Cashโ€™s โ€œAmerican Recordingsโ€, with the addition of a markedly European dark touch, received an excellent reception from critics and the public. Van Cleef took part in several international stoner-doom rock festivals with his previous projects – among the albums with Humulus โ€œRHINOโ€ (2017, Kozmik Artifactz) and โ€œThe Deepโ€ (2020, Kozmik Artifactz) – and several openings at blues-rock concerts, including Ben Harper and opening solo at The White Buffalo’s sold-out Italian show at Alcatraz in Milan. From solo, acoustic duo, to more structured and complex ensembles, Van Cleef’s shows know how to engage and capture the attention of the audience.

    Carsex โ€“ Landmine

Long Beach, CA Punk/Metal band CARSEX has released their ferocious new EP โ€œHuman Interestโ€, which is a deep dive into timely themes about the current state of our chaotic world. They channel their anger and angst into 7 pummeling tracks. The EP was produced by Steve Evetts (Sepultura, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Butcher Babies) at Maple Studios in Santa Ana, CA, and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music in New Windsor, NY.

The EPโ€™s focus track, ‘Landmine’, is a heavy, chugging anthem that forges ahead like a sonic M1 Abrams Tank. CARSEX singer Nigel Burk says โ€œLandmineโ€™ is a follow-up to our song ‘Your Lesson’, which delved into succumbing to various forms of temptation and how weโ€™re taught to fear divine retribution if we fall prey to these desires. โ€œLandmineโ€ takes it a step further – itโ€™s akin to a bad acid trip where everything is distortedโ€ฆ You realize that there is no absolution, and youโ€™re going to burn anyway. Itโ€™s like walking through a field of landmines โ€“ youโ€™re going to blow up, no matter what you do.โ€

Director Chris Michael explains the โ€œLandmineโ€ video concept: โ€œI teamed up with my buddies in CARSEX to bring their video ‘Landmine’ to life. This trackโ€™s a banger, and I was honored to storyboard and shoot it. The concept dives into the effects of an acid trip: The cool blue colors for the initial calm, then harsh reds and awkward angles take over as the hallucinations hit. We swapped the mic for a grenade to push the hallucinatory theme further.โ€ He continues: โ€œWe were under red and blue lighting for hours so long we thought we were trippingโ€ฆ. Some of the guys swore the colors were shifting and moving. Everything about the shoot stayed true to the theme: chaos, distortion, and the constant threat of land mines.โ€

CARSEX has previously released 2 songs from the EP – โ€œCrooked Canvasโ€ and โ€œSitting Ducksโ€, with both tracks gaining support on Heavy Music playlists including Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Pandora, and Audiomack. The bandโ€™s other releases include 2019โ€™s CarSex and 2020โ€™s 2020 EP, which featured the singles โ€œYour Generationโ€ and โ€œLovesickโ€. The band is scheduling shows in support of the EP release and will be doing an extended tour in the fall.

    About Carsex

Forged by the survivors of Long Beach music scene bands Damned Age, Black Velvet Brigade, and Red River Massacre, these five music veterans have slugged it out in the clubs of Orange County, California for more than 10 years. While performing shows in these various groups on the circuit, they became friends over time. As the bands they were in either dissolved or changed direction, they decided to form under a new banner with shared musical tastes and goals, and CARSEX formed in 2018.

With influences spanning from the early Los Angeles punk sound, such as the Circle Jerks, Black Flag & the Germs, to the Doors and Danzig, plus more modern monsters like Queens of the Stone Age, Murder City Devils & Fu Manchu โ€“ they play hard and loud with no hint of an apology. Itโ€™s not easy to put a definite tag on the sound or pinpoint exactly whatโ€™s going onโ€ฆ Itโ€™s like that strange feeling you get when youโ€™re in the back seat in the throes of passion (or down front in the pit). You need to be in the moment to interpret it for yourself. CARSEX has previously released 2 EPs: 2019โ€™s CarSex and 2020โ€™s 2020 EP, which featured the singles โ€œYour Generationโ€ and โ€œLovesickโ€.

The band is stepping up their game in 2024, and is following up the success of their first single & video โ€œCrooked Canvasโ€ with blistering new track โ€œSitting Ducksโ€. The band recorded the song at Maple Sound Studios in Santa Ana, CA, with producer Steve Evetts (Sepultura, Alesana, Poison the Well, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Butcher Babies) and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music, New Windsor, NY.

CARSEX is very much a live band, and shows are currently being booked to support their new music releases. Theyโ€™ve opened for Stillwell (Fieldy from Kornโ€™s Band), The Obsessed, Mondo Generator, Suicide Silence, Unsane, Dead Poets Society, Narcoleptic Youth, and Oโ€™Zorn!, among others. The power of their pure degradation of the stage, combined with sexually charged, exorcism-esque energy during their performance, sets a ritual scene that one must be a part of to fully understand. The heart-pounding drums & bass that could blow the clothes off anything with legs, screaming guitars with solos that go both ways, and howling vocals that turn speaking in tongues into English. This is CARSEX.

    Novelistme – Fabulous Nonsense

    Fabulous Nonsense
    Fabulous Nonsense

Novelistme has today released his new album titled ‘Fabulous Nonsense’. As much an original brand as a true indie artist, Novelistme creates a distinct atmosphere with each track, which, together, envelops the listener in their little universe.

‘Fabulous Nonsense’ is a concept with conviction. A yin wanting you to be the yang. What I continually focus on is the outside of the box and left-of-center guitar work: nothing I would expect, yet everything I would adore. Commanding the limelight while taking the floor. Making everything even more anthemic.

The best thing I can say is to listen for yourself. You will find something that lures you in and lets everything keep you there.

Check out our other features with Novelistme HERE.

    About ‘Fabulous Nonsense’

Thereโ€™s a beautiful kind of chaos to Fabulous Nonsense, a lyric-centric album that reads like a manifesto from someone equal parts romantic, rebel, and raw-nerved philosopher. These arenโ€™t just songs โ€” theyโ€™re barroom sermons and bedroom confessions scribbled on napkins during emotional triage. What makes this collection buzz is its refusal to pick a lane: itโ€™s political, personal, punch-drunk, and perceptive, often all in the same verse.

    Track 1: โ€œWhat I Amโ€

We open with identity interrogation over tribal drums in our heads. โ€œWhat I am / What Iโ€™m not / Iโ€™m giving everything that I gotโ€ could be tossed-off clichรฉ, but here itโ€™s sung with enough conviction to make it feel like a scar. The refrain โ€œSongs of envy / Songs of shameโ€ pulls us into a self-made crucible โ€” it’s the opening thesis for a record that wrestles with who we are, or might be, when no oneโ€™s watching.

    Track 2: โ€œI Want You Hereโ€

This is the emotional heartbeat of the album โ€” a needy, sweaty, too-honest plea for presence and permanence. โ€œDonโ€™t want it clean / Want it all fucked upโ€ might as well be this recordโ€™s bumper sticker. Itโ€™s tender in its dysfunction and addictive in its repetition. Like a drunk text set to synths.

    Track 3: โ€œNeverโ€

Part breakup anthem, part manifesto, โ€œNeverโ€ is a snarl at attachment and conformity: โ€œCan you weaponize a lover?โ€ the narrator asks, before declaring, โ€œNever gonna need ya.โ€ The contradiction is delicious โ€” like someone trying to storm out of the room but stopping in the doorway to see if youโ€™re still looking.

    Track 4: โ€œJust Do Itโ€

The Nike slogan becomes a rebel yell. This is the most punk-inflected track โ€” itโ€™s dizzy with rhyme, full of jabs at the justice system (โ€œVerdict is passed / Justice a farceโ€), and gives off big Trainspotting-meets-Stone-Roses energy. This is grime poetry for the disillusioned.

    Track 5: โ€œI Need New Musicโ€

The most meta track in the set. It’s a self-aware cry for artistic rebirth that critiques creative staleness and commodified culture while also being part of it. โ€œI need new music / Donโ€™t you confuse it / I live my life / I live my lieโ€ โ€” itโ€™s honesty in a blender.

    Track 6: โ€œStop Think Conspiracyโ€

This one throws punches at conspiracy culture and media-fed delusion with verses that feel like they were written on a bar napkin after too many pints and too much news. It doesnโ€™t solve the problem โ€” it stares at it until it blinks.

    Track 7: โ€œDoing Somethingโ€

There’s a sweetness buried under the existential fatigue. This one wants to matter, deeply. โ€œIโ€™m doing something / Itโ€™s better than nothingโ€ is a line that should be inscribed above every bedroom studio and TikTok livestream โ€” a war cry for the mediocre miracle of trying.

    Track 8: โ€œBad Night Outโ€

This is where the wheels fall off. A stream-of-consciousness account of a night spiraling into mess and regret. โ€œEverythingโ€™s all wrong / And I donโ€™t know who to blowโ€ โ€” you donโ€™t write that unless youโ€™ve been there, or at least wanted to admit you have. Itโ€™s Bukowski with a hangover and a Spotify playlist.

    Track 9: โ€œWhy Do You Talk?โ€

A minimalist breakup cut thatโ€™s almost too honest for comfort. โ€œSo happy for you / But not so much for meโ€ is the kind of line you only say once before hating yourself for it. The repetition of โ€œWhy do you talk?โ€ is a dagger cloaked in indie ennui.

    Track 10: โ€œOpen Parks (For Open Hearts)โ€

The closer. It starts nostalgic, ends melancholic, and whispers a rebirth. A hazy elegy to youth, friendship, and fleeting joy. โ€œUntil it starts again / Starts over againโ€ โ€” itโ€™s less a resolution than a resignation. Life, after all, is a loop.

    Final Verdict:

Fabulous Nonsense is as much a diary as it is a setlist. Itโ€™s music made by someone who isnโ€™t trying to impress you โ€” theyโ€™re trying to outpace their unraveling. Thereโ€™s genius in its lack of polish, poetry in its profanity. This isnโ€™t an album for playlists โ€” itโ€™s one for people who still listen front-to-back, head in hands, wondering what the hell comes next.

    SuckerTrap – Crossroads

    Suckertrap
    Suckertrap

Welcome to the end of spiritual credit. SuckerTrapโ€™s new single, Crossroads, is a hard-hitting, soul-scorching blast of alternative rock and metal fury that tears into modern moral collapse. With brutal honesty and caustic wit, the track confronts a world where even the Devil wonโ€™t deal, Heavenโ€™s shut its gates, and the only currency left is disillusionment.

Featuring magnetic Mik Ireland (Crystal Pistol), Crossroads takes a nihilistic look at fame, salvation, and the desperate search for meaning when all the old myths have rotted. Grinding riffs meet soaring vocals in a track thatโ€™s as anthemic as it is apocalyptic โ€” think Bring Me The Horizon meets Bad Omens, with a dose of Architects’ introspection.

Mixed and produced by David Ottoson and given a Dolby Atmos upgrade by Jeff Dawson, this is SuckerTrapโ€™s most immersive and cinematic audio experience yet. Crossroads doesnโ€™t offer answers โ€” it shouts the questions into the void and dares you to listen.

If youโ€™ve ever prayed for purpose and got put on hold, this songโ€™s for you.

Check out our other features with SuckerTrap HERE.

    About SuckerTrap

A dark celebration of heavy Rock and Roll music. It will sink its teeth into you and won’t let go! The latest project by Pinto Stiletto, formerly of Crystal Pistol, Bonitos, Wett Stilettos, and Randy Rampage band, featuring Mr. Smyth on vocals. A mix of various influences from Iggy to Bauhaus, Sex Pistols to Sisters of Mercy, Black Sabbath to Killing Joke, and Judas Priest. A dark celebration of heavy Rock and Roll music.

Suckertrap was initially a studio project. After gaining interest from a few labels in Canada and the U.S, who were hoping to see an actual live band, we decided to put a band together. We were still in the process of rehearsals for our first show when we signed a deal with SODEH Records out of Montreal (www.sodeh.ca). SODEH has taken on our back catalogue and is working hard. But the real work will happen with our new album. With a proper promotion campaign and videos, we are planning on great success for this band.

    Mรผntrails – Heretic Eyes

Mรผntrails have today released their new video for the track titled ‘Heretic Eyes’ from their album ‘The Cenobite Tapes’, out via Wormholedeath Records.

Drenched in grit and covered in filth, ‘Heretic Eyes’ is that special ‘fuck you’ to the system via a solid introduction to the unindorctrinated and misinformed. Refreshing rebeliousness amid a sea of conformity and calamity, ‘Heretic Eyes’ takes the obvious and makes it oblivious.

Tumultuousness is timeless, as we are all quickly learning. Pick which one Mรผntrails has just written a soundtrack for. Whatever you choose, this will make it more memorable.

    About ‘Heretic Eyes’

A brooding fusion of melancholic rock and new wave energy, “Heretic Eyes” unfolds like a fever dreamโ€”haunting, electric, and deeply introspective. Misty Decembers, hidden truths, and the weight of time linger in every note, pulling you into a world where past and present blur.

    About Mรผntrails

Formed in Spain in 2022, Mรผntrails blends raw emotion with atmospheric rock. Featuring Dibasson (Vocals), Beszel (Guitars, Programming, & Backing Vocals), Zennon (Keyboards), BasLag (Bass), and Shevek (Drums), the band crafts deeply personal, immersive soundscapes. Following three EPs in 2024, they signed with WormHoleDeath Records for the 2025 release of The Cenobite Tapes.

While not a concept album, The Cenobite Tapes unfolds as a cohesive journey, merging melancholic depth, raw intensity, and ambient soundscapes. Each track weaves a unique atmosphere, yet a subtle thread of self-expression ties them together, making the album an evolving, immersive experience.

    Rainbow Sally – Double Dare

    Rainbow Sally
    Rainbow Sally

Rainbow Sally is the alt-pop project of Sarah Short โ€” a singer, songwriter, and producer living on a rural farm on Australiaโ€™s mid-north coast. While โ€˜Double Dareโ€™ may be her first official release, Sarah has been writing music since childhood, experimenting with everything from punk rock to orchestral emo. With Rainbow Sally, she embraces a genre-blending, candy-colored soundscape full of textured production and raw, heartfelt songwriting.

Co-written and produced by multi ARIA award winner Ben Lee and released via his label Weirder Together, โ€˜Double Dareโ€™ is a bold and playful introduction to Rainbow Sallyโ€™s world. The trackโ€™s whimsical drumming, shimmering piano, and sweet, airy vocals evoke memories of sun-soaked afternoons and scraped knees on the playground โ€” nostalgic, bright, and buzzing with energy.

Lyrically, โ€˜Double Dareโ€™ filters heartbreak through a rainbow lens. Rainbow Sally flips the script on a past hurt, daring the other person to own their mistakes while reclaiming her voice and power. With its defiant, infectious hook โ€” โ€œspeak up, I double double double dare youโ€ โ€” the song stays buoyant and fun even as it delivers its message with a punch.

    Aleia – Had Your Fun

    Aleia
    Aleia

Written in a moment of post-breakup clarity, โ€˜Had Your Funโ€™ reflects the moment when the rose-tinted glasses finally come off and the toxicity of a past relationship comes into focus. Itโ€™s a poetic post-mortem โ€” raw, reflective, and full of the emotional depth that makes ALEIA so captivating.

    About Aleia

Obsessive overthinking, exposing lyrics, and a disorganized attachment style are what weโ€™ve come to expect and love from Perth/Boorloo-based artist Aleia

Infused with indie sensibilities, Aleia blends elements of folk, rock, and pop, inspired by artists such as Boygenius, Lizzy McAlpine, and Fiona Apple.

Her songwriting highlights the struggles of dating in the modern era and the embarrassing nature of finding vulnerability within it. Aleia is frustrated and fighting the urge not to romanticize the bare minimum.
