Say She She, the disco funk trio fronted by harmonizing vocalists/songwriters Piya Malik, Sabrina Cunningham and Nya Parker Brown, releases their cover of “Slippery People” by the Talking Heads.
Recorded in the legendary Maida Vale studio, Say She She’s rendition is a colorful, funk-driven take on one of their favorite groups. Says Piya Malik on the release: “Recording there was an absolute dream come true and it was humbling to perform in the same studios thinking of all the legends that have done the same load in and load out from David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin”.
Since releasing their sophomore album Silver in the fall of 2023 — which brought them to CBS Mornings, Kelly Clarkson and Jools Holland, and was #1 on KCRW’s Best Albums of 2023 — Say She She has been non-stop touring. Packed with major performances, they just played a sold out Music Hall Of Williamsburg, made their festival debut at Bottle Rock, and will debut at Bonnaroo tomorrow, plus perform at High Sierra and Telluride Jazz and return to London for a triumphant headliner at the legendary Roundhouse in November.
