1. New Desire The Foam Heads 4:15

The Foam Heads, from Oxford UK, formed in early 2020 as songwriters, writing about modern life to the backdrop of their music from guitar anthems to a semi-acoustic ether. The Foam Heads are Gareth on bass, synth and vocals, Nick on guitars, keyboards and vocals, and Mark on drums. Often compared to The Chameleons with their weaving pedal-synth sounds.

2023 sees New Desire released as a single in April, followed by an EP in May of recordings at Evolution Recording Studios, Oxford.

Their 2022 synthesiser based remix of Mass Extinction was originally recorded at Glasshouse Studios (with Jamie Hyatt from Bedd at the controls).

“Rain” kicked off a series of new music releases in 2022, recorded at Oxfordshire Music Rooms with Kyle Mundy engineering (ex Peerless Pirates). Signing up to MAS Records’ artist development scheme in 2021 led to gigs at The Jericho, Bullingdon, Port Mahon, and O2 Academy with other local bands (In-Flight Movie, Barricane, Tiger Mendoza, and more). March 2022 saw the Foam Heads support October Drift.

Their releases for 2023 will be through OneRPM.

They are named after an ecological incident in Oxford where the Oxford Mail reported on a military chemical spill, saying that ‘a wave of Foam Heads (down the river Thames) for the City’.
