This has been a summer of great concerts and one of my most favorites has been seeing Saint Asonia! I was fortunate enough to be at Rock on the Range in Columbus, Ohio for their first ever concert together and then this Friday I saw them again at the Machine Shop in Flint, Michigan.

It becomes instantly clear that they love their fans and they love performing! There is so much energy on the stage that it is hard to pick someone to watch! All four of them are such distict individuals, yet when you put them all together it is like a puzzle that fits together perfectly. I’ve rarely seen artists interact with the crowd like Saint Asonia does! That interaction makes the crowd feel like they are a part of it. And with Saint Asonia, they are! Adam is constantly encouraging the crowd to sing along, and oh they do! It’s amazing that their first cd was released on July 31, 2015, and already the crowd is singing their songs back to them!

As a photographer, you get to shoot photos for the first 3 songs, so it’s important you make them count. I was trying my hardest, but during Animal I Have Become I definitely started jumping around a bit instead of taking pictures! It’s hard to stay focused when there is so much energy on stage!

Adam Gontier sings with such heart that you are drawn to watching him. He brings you along with the lyrics, making you feel the words he sings with such passion. His almost bluesly vocals touched with screams leave you wanting more.

Mike Mushok kills it on lead guitar, his melodies are like no other, a true legend. I adore the way he plays, I’ve never seen anyone play like him.

Corey Lowery’s bass playing was on point! And the energy he has! He was all over the stage, encouraging the crowd and fist pumping with them.

Rich Beddoe is the best! Both times I have seen Saint Asonia he he has been the first on stage, and manages to get us going just with his looks! What a character! It’s amazing to me that he can keep the time and do his actions directed toward the crowd! A true performer.

After going to a Saint Asonia concert you will know two things – the first being Rock Is Not Dead and the second being that you can’t wait to see them again!
