1. Gen Z The Others Are Dead 2:53

London based The Others Are Dead, Steve (T.O.A.D,S for short, comma intentional) origins (Irish, Bulgarian, English, Greek) are reflected in their approach to music – best described as a melting pot of grunge, punk, surf and noise. ‘Gen Z’ the bands 5th single, a kick-ass, anthemic guitar-fuelled power punch, with a hypnotic trance like bass riff. A satirical banger in which a millennial with a fetish for the end of the world goads the next generation to take over their protagonist status so they can drink coffee and chill their way toward irrelevance..

The band started out as a socially distanced songwriting project, before meeting face-to-face in a brief respite between lockdowns. Since the end of restrictions the band have been ripping it up across the sweaty, sticky-floored London scene since late 2021. Including playing main support to The SoapGirls at one of the legendary Nambucca’s last shows before closure, as well as several headline spots for Camden Rocks Presents. Next March the band will find themselves opening for the legendary punk band Eater at Camden’s Powerhaus.

‘Gen Z’ follows a bunch of quality, diverse singles: ‘Get in the Shark’ (a cheerful romp about feeding real estate agents to sharks), anthemic ‘Whatever You Wanna Call It’ and BBC Introducing picks ‘Cats Can Fly’ and ‘Ditches’.
