After a separate personal & musical split in quick succession, Von Marlon’s alias was formed as a solo project after living abroad.
The name derives from a Mike Skinner lyric, whose music along with other underground alternative pioneers of the UK scene greatly inspired Von Marlon’s sound, which offers a mix of Hip-Hop, Ambient, & Dance inspired alternative pop songs.
Garnering attention with the two singles ‘Searching’ and ‘Tripping’ on independent radio stations such as Absolute Radio and Amazing radio, Von Marlon was then featured in The Unsigned Guide’s June ’19 Spotlight, before signing a sync deal to Max Music Publishing.
From this, ‘Closer’ was synced on an episode of Queen Sugar, the US TV show broadcasted on Oprah Winfrey’s network OWN, garnering 30,000 plays on Spotify. The latest single, “Together Forever” was featured in Mahogany’s ‘Lagoon’ Playlist whilst also being mentioned on sites such as Riptide, Kaltblut, Stereofox and more.
The newest single, ‘Save It’ shall be released on 23rd July. The song is about the anticipation and patient longing for social interaction with loved ones, once post-pandemic things return to normal… whatever normality shall mean.
With this hope of the world reopening, Von Marlon is looking forward to booking some more shows around Berlin later in the year along with a newly anticipated EP in November.
