Based in Cottbus, Germany, the rising alt. rock duo Para Lia, released Soap Bubble Dreams in March of 2019. The album is the debut LP for Para Lia. The duo consists of multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and songwriter Rene Methner and his wife Cindy on vocals.

The ten songs on the album weave a tapestry of earthy guitars, analog synths and a distinctive heartfelt lead guitar sound that flows seamlessly from the soul to the hand.

With the conception of ‘Soap Bubble Dreams’ Para Lia celebrates the indie/alternative rock sound of the ’90s along with stylistic elements of 80’s darkwave and psychedelic prog rock.

The chorus is the trademark of their songs. René’s vocals stand forefront, enhanced by the arrival of the ethereal splendor of Cindy’s voice. It is an album filled with melodic, atmospheric, punchy and distinctive sounds – in the best way retro; but with a good measure of freshness and originality.

All these various combinations are the reasons why demo versions of songs like “The Man Who Went Away” get played on indie rock radio stations in the US, UK, and Australia. Why ‘Higher and Away’ was in the Belter Radio UK Indie Charts for a couple of weeks and why songs like “Who Gets Fooled Again” have won big fandom on Soundcloud.
