The Royal Guard is made up of long time friends and seasoned musicians with one simple goal – to rock. Todd spent years traveling US, Europe and Asia, writing and making music. Upon returning to New York City with a new musical idea, he turned to two lifelong friends to make it happen. The first call was to Fred and his talent on drums. Andy, who has played music since he was two years old and has written, recorded and performed his whole life, was the final key to getting things started. With the simple idea of getting together to make great music, everything fell into place.
Recording the collection of songs seemed the next logical step, resulting in the album “Showdown”. Mobile studio setup gave the band the opportunity to further define their unique sound and style.
In the beginning stages, the band had to pull through its share of hardships. They had to watch Todd lose his mom after a long battle with cancer while their drummer was fighting the same fight, going through series of radiation and chemo. These events halted the band for a season, but didn’t quench the initial idea. Quite contrary, it gave inspiration to some new music. The guys are back and they are more determined than ever, playing local clubs and venues, and putting on an amazing live show.
