On August 7, Riot Grill descends on the historic Regent Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. The first festival of its kind, Riot Grill is a fully female-fronted fest that brings together punk music, hard-hitting comedy, and delectable grub in celebration of LGBT rights.

The lineup features legendary female artists such as Babes In Toyland, Le Butcherettes, Slutever, and The Menstruators. Emmy Award-winning stand-up comedian Sara Schaefer will be hosting, and Bitchin’ Kitchen’s celebrity chef Nadia G will be doing a pop-up. It’s time to get loud, stuff your face and celebrate kickass women who rock.

“Riot Grill is the beginning of a new era, and it’s about f@#$ing time!” Said Lori Barbero, member of Babes in Toyland – the pioneering rock group who played a seminal role in the Riot Grrrl movement.

Riot Grill is the brainchild of celebrity chef Nadia G, the host of Cooking Channel’s hit series Bitchin’ Kitchen and author of two best-selling cookbooks. “I’ve always wanted to create a hardcore, all-grrrl fest that honors the fiercest women in music, comedy and food. Kinda like Lilith Fair, but with more leather and less patchouli…” The event boasts an exclusive Bitchin’ Kitchen menu – the first time in Los Angeles.

Riot Grill showcases three generations of Riot Grrrls in three different genres. Comedian and host Sara Schaefer says, “I’m really excited to be a part of this. I can’t wait to laugh, dance and stuff my face with all these talented women!”

Tickets start at $35, with VIP tickets selling for $99 and offering patrons free tapas from the Bitchin’ Kitchen Menu, exquisite cocktails, a meet and greet with select bands, and a swag bag that includes stunning merch designed by Christopher Lee Sauve, who recently created a t-shirt collection for Madonna.

The festival also is as a proud supporter of LGBT rights. While incredible strides have been made this year in the fight for marriage equality, making sure those gains are not undermined remains a priority. Laws like Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which allows businesses to discriminate against LGBT employees and customers, have passed in 21 states. Riot Grill is honored to support the Human Rights Campaign in fighting these unconscionable – and unconstitutional – laws. Let’s party for equal rights.
