Pastel Coast are set to drop their new single titled ‘Distance’ tomorrow. Pastel Coast are a band with personality and ‘Distance’ proves that. The originality of the track is only surpassed by the hook and that hook is an electropop monster that surrounds you through the speakers and engulfs you with a thickness and vivid sound that come from a band that are as much a group of songwriters as they are musicians. ‘Distance’ is a song that elegantly flows throughout.
“The distance; you can forget it”. That’s what the lyrics mean. After a year separated from the rest of the band; separated from music ; people need to be connected to each other. The track the “Distance” has an English verse and a French chorus to put off the veil and mix our colors while dancing.”
About Pastel Coast
From the shores of Boulogne-sur-mer, Pastel Coast are looking toward the sea. Quentin Isidore and his band surf a US indiepop wave, taking influences from bands like The Drums, Beach Fossils and Wild Nothing, but bring their own fresh “à la française” sound.
After their debut album, Hovercraft, was nominated for the Paris’ Prix Fondation d’Entreprise Ricard and for the Inouïs du Printemps de Bourges, Pastel Coast are coming back in 2021 with a new opus entitled Sun that will be released on Shelflife / Groover Obsessions this June.
